Default Breaks setup question for Performace model

I cooked my breaks at the road track this weekend (Summit Point, WV) and was thinking of upgrading my breaks.

The Z did great BTW.

Here is what I am looking for to do for now. I need new break pads all around, and I need new rear rotors. The shop that I went to recommended Hawk HP+ for break pads and EBC Sloted/Drilled Rotors. They are charging me $660 for all.

Is it a good deal? What do you guys think about the setup in general?

Thanks much.

Gene.

[responded to your thread in the Racing forum]

Never heard of the EBC rotors, but have plenty of experience with Hawk pads. Hawk pads will chew up your rotors when it's cold, and with a set of drilled rotors, you'll likely end up with cracks.

What fluid were you using?

If you have the expendable cash, I'd suggest picking up a set of the OEM Brembos from somebody selling in the Classified section. The size of the calipers and rotors allow enough thermal mass to withstand many laps without brake fade.

John, sorry to be following .......

1st thing 1st Gene.......it's spelled B R A K E !

Not putting down the Track's Baby Brembo's, but........why are many owners of them swapping out for StopTechs? I would like their rears though.

Guessing from the author's name, that person isn't of English decent... I was going to guess Russian or Ukrainian...

Well, while some StopTechs see track duty, I'd go as far to say that most people get them for the bling factor. StopTech makes a great product, but most of the Z's I've seen with them end up showing off in the Appearance forums...

I'll drink to that!
