Default Wheels Size vs. Tire Size vs. Horsepower Size

I currently have 20x10 rear wheels with 285/30/20 Falken FK452 tires. My car put down 402whp with my Vortech and 5AT tranny and I find that the tires grip extremely well. Heck, I barely have any wheel spin at all in 1st gear and ZERO wheel spin in 2nd+.

The downside is that while I like my wheels, they weight 33lbs each ( 63lbs with tires ).

So, I've been thinking about putting on my OEM 18's again and running 245/40/18 tires out back ( which would make the overall diameter slightly smaller than it is now, raising my overall drive ratio ) and putting some sticky tires out back like some Nitto NT05's or something similar.

The obvious good thing about it would be the fact that a smaller tire diameter would make me quicker and I'd lose about 15lbs per wheel.

The bad thing is, would they stick AT ALL like my 285 falkens considering that they are 40mm thinner and lighter?

Thoughts?

then get some 285 width tire in 19 or 18 rear, and 265 width tire in 18 front...

or even better, 295, 305 width rear tire

Of coz you need some need wheel, not stock wheel

y not save up and get 19x9.5(good quality 21lb rims) all around if your not planning to up the power in a very long time. I would do that route in your position. You keep the looks and save weight with the 9.5 compared to the 20x10.
