Stock rims for winter or no?

Stock rims for winter or no?
Hey guys,
I'm in Toronto,Canada. As I am typing this I'm watching heavy snow coming down outside. No more 200 KPH in the HWY I guess, well for at least 3-4 more months. It's time for snow tires and my question to you guys is this: Evryone talks about the kind of tire to get. What about rims... Would it be stupid of me to install winter tires on the stock rims for my Z (not Track Pack)?
Or am I better off getting new cheap rims?
Any help would be reatly appriciated.
