I'll check it today. I've put the lug nuts against the rotors when i reinstalled the the rotors, and they screw tight against the rotors.

OFF TOPIC: can i put 245 on the front and 225 on the rear? I currently have this set up starting from yesterday and while i take off the wheels, i want to know if i should keep this set up or swap back to original

Cause i have Direzza or whatever that stock garbage tires on 225 and Nitto Invo on 245. Direzza started to make loud whummm whummm sound when i slow down. So i swapped the front and back, the car slows down really quite now.

i got my alignment done like 2 months ago. The fronts didn't make the sound until few days ago. I do see very little inner side wearing down but i don't know if it was like that when i bought the car.

hey dave, I put in the nut half way onto the stud and tried wiggling it. the nuts on all four side were wiggling. isn't this normal though? idk...
I tighten the nuts again today and they were loose again..

Naw, that doesn't seem right. By the time they are half-way on, you ought to have 8-10 threads engaged and they should be fairly tight at that point. Maybe the previous owner wore them out somehow (I can't imagine how you would do it).

I'm thinking you're supposed to have the ones that look like this those are what came on my 04 with 18" wheels.

My recommendation would be to stop by a dealer and pick up 5 of those. Swap them out on one of your wheels then drive around for a few days. If they don't loosen like your others are doing, then replace all the others.

Or i could just get one lugnut and see if it wiggles like mine now. I doubt if it wiggles, it'll be any different than mine. It would really suck if they are the studs, not the lugnuts.

Just grab some new lugs that are 1.25 spline. Obviously those lugs aren't doing their job.

I had 4 lock nuts lying around in my garage so i compared how much this lock nut and original lock nut wiggle.
The lock nut did have wiggle when i spun it half way in. I spun it very close to the rotor and the wiggle was less but was still there. The lock nut had little less wiggle than the original but not much of difference.
I didn't have the right key for the lock nut so i couldn't put my wheel back on using the locks..lol. I guess i have go buy a lugnut from a dealer to see the real difference

Take one of your lug nuts to Autozone or Advanced Auto Parts. In their lug nut section, they have several sample lugs for you to screw on your lug nuts. This is to make certain you are getting the correct lug nut for your car. The lug nuts you need are 12 mm X 1.25. If the lug nuts taken off your car are not that size, you need to buy new lug nuts for your car. If your lug nut screw onto the correct lug, the lugs on your car may be messed up. Also, measure the length of the lugs on your car. I have a base and the stock length is exactly 25 mm long. If you lugs are a different length, that could be your problem.

Also i work for american racing I have personally never heard of nuts loosening them selves for any reason other then the wrong thread pitch. Make sure you go pick up some acorn style lugs with a 12mm x 1.25 thread pitch. If you have after market wheels make sure the lug nut seat is correct for the wheel. If the car had spacers before you bought it it may have had extended studs installed also. should check for that

Mine is all stock. I changed the bearing/hub so we'll see if that'll stop them from loosening

JDMStanced please let me know what happened. I know this post was 5 years ago but my studs tighten into my hub then fall out with little pressure. One of them also won't tighten into the hub. ( I seat it in the hub then the bolt grabs it and the bolt and stud spin together forever)

Either your nuts or studs are stripped. Have you tried replacing them? Also are they the proper size? The pitch is 12x1.25. Start there.

turboed350z I've taken all of the studs out. I initially had to drill through the nut into the stud then crack the stud. Very long annoying process. But once all of this was done I attempted to seat brand new studs. They would tighten to a certain point then spin with whatever I was tightening it with ( I used a bunch of washers then a nut, I also used a wheel lock nut and same thing). If it matters ( I don't think it will) I had Niche Racing 18's on it. I'm quite new to everything so if I sound dumb I apologize

I'm not positive but I think it could be the bore of the studs? Not thick enough for the hub?
