Default Appropriate tires for 17"X8.5" and 17"X9.5"?

I was wondering what the largest tires are that will fit on 17"X8.5" wheels in the front and 17"X9.5" wheels in the rear with stock suspension without rubbing the outer wheel wells. I was thinking 245/45 in front and 275/40 in rear. Also, what offset would be appropriate for those size wheels to insure no rubbing w/ stock suspension?

I run 275/40-17 front and rear on 17x9 wheels with 35mm offset... stock springs/shocks... no rubbing fenders or suspension... Wheels are Enkei RPO2J.

I don't think you can fit a 275 onto an 8.5" wide wheel, so go with 255/40-17 and you should be fine.

Hope that helps.

Id say 245/45/17 and 275/45/17

245/45 gives you 110.25 and 275/40 is 110. so instead of the expected larger rear youd be slightly smaller.

go with 45 on both and you should be perfect.

I would agree with ares, except I don't think you can find a 275/45/17 tire. I think the biggest 45/17 aspect ratio tire you will be able to find is a 255/45. So that would be my recommendation for the rear. Fronts, 245/45s.

Thanks, but I didn't mean to run 275s on the front 8.5" wheels . . just on the rear 9.5" wheels. I'd run 245/45 on the front 8.5" wheels. Good to hear that the 275s don't rub on either the front or rear on your vehicle, PeteH

Thanks to all for the feedback. Any more info on appropriate offsets?

I'd suggest not going any larger than 35.... maybe try to stay between 35 and 22.
