I take back my comment the 20's posted here do look quite good

Definitely need a BBK to finish off the look though, but once again, this adds more weight and thus less power.

i'll be seriously looking into 20's especially if, from my understanding, they won't have much difference than 19's on the feel. If trynalivepro wouldn't have put that setup on his car (body kit, wheels...) i would have did it it looks awesome.. I'm willing to give 20's a try and I may get those forgestars after all if i don't get into some other model. If anything goes wrong with the 20's, i'll have my 17's Enkei CDR9's that came with the car

IMO

Either you do 20's or 18's

19's just means you couldn't make up it mind , I have 20's right now and my next set will be 18's

So you're going for 18's because you're tired of the ride or...?

I like the ride with my 20's and eibach pro kit. Pretty smooth sometimes alittle bouncy I run 35 psi in the front tires and 30 psi in the rears.

I'm going to go 18's to

1. Change it up
2. Tires are cheaper and easier to find
3. More options

U have to remember most off the ppl on here run too BIG of tires with 20's bc the cheap deadly available tires are bigger than stock diameteter, hint what most 20's look like a F'N 4X4 , lol

Don't get me wrong, we have alot of members that do the right size but if ur looking at 35 series tires then u shouldn't have 20's on a Z, 30 series is the tallest ( saying ur running wide tires) like u said before, u didn't get ur z for comfort, it's a freaking sports car for Christ sake, plus when u drop it, most springs/coils are not for "soft comfy ride"

I'm droped on sportlines and I love the ride, its a sports car, if I want comfort Ill go pick up my moms prius, lol

U won't be disappointed with 20's just make sure u have the right size (diameter) tire, dont look like a dumbass, proper width and offsets make it or break it bro

Are the new 20 inch wheels as comfortable as the OEM wheels?

I agree it all depends on style . Iam running 20's and they dont weigh as heavy as other 20's. 23.4 lb fronts and 24.5 rears.

Some of those wheels would look great on an FX35 or some other SUV .

20s for the sake of 20s, no bueno.
This is only due to general weight. Heavy wheels on our cars absolutley RUIN the car. In every possibly manner.

If you roll a good tire and a good set of lightweight wheels, it will handle great and stay very snappy.
I am not being subjective, i ahve tried and owned everything on my car. In terms of overall performance, the reasonably light stock 17 combo was quite nice, stopping was amazing.

Similar total weight 20s will feel and acel jsut as snappy, but you will feel ever the slightest braking difference.

Now is there a diff between 19 and 20 in that respect? prob not.

If youre gna buy 20s, youre not tracking your car... so id never tell you to go buy 18" enkei rpfs and call it a day.

Youre worried that its a bad idea? Its not a bad idea at all.

roll 20s all day as long as they are quality and of the correct offset.
No fat chromies please sir.

Of course i wouldn't go the gangsta way, rest assured people. As a member of this board i devote myself to making my car worthy of being shown on these forums as soon as the modifications start.

Ok now on a more "commonly people" note i have put the mods on hold because of other life matters and hoping to start seriously this winter (BBK, wheels, clutch kit with flywheel, exhaust, front and rear lights) when the car will be in storage.

I am pretty much still undecided on the model, part of me dreams to find some used Work Gnosis CS4 / Venaci Mesh and make a sexy look with an Amuse Superleggera kit (replica; go ahead hate on if you want) or nismo V3 front, side and a matching rear bumper or add-on. But another realistic part of me says i should find some nice used volk's in the 19's size and keep it simple with a V2 front and back as well as amuse shine sides.

Oh well we'll see...updates after winter guys!

bmc's 20's look pretty good. Can't say the same for most of the others I've seen.

Was about to say waiting for bmccann to chime in.

OP: If you have the base Z brakes then you're going to burn through the pads quicker than say 17s or 18s. Just something to consider, not so sure about stopping distance but it will be impacted as bmccann101 has stated.

I'm really hoping to get some Work wheels, if i really go nismo V3, i may get 20's with a 14" BBK kit. around where i live, getting 19" tires is a hassle as they are on special order only so i i get a flat sometime, it'll always take a while to get a tire. I'll have to see into it. Anyway i will consider weight as well, not looking to make this car slow...
