So. . . round about pricing for the "trak" wheels as described above is. . . $5500? I think the pro/con list is pretty short for real track application. Assume the savings is 5#/wheel. The poster child wheel which starts with E and ends with i costs under 350 bucks and is 10.5" wide, weighs 20#, and is heavily track proven.

"Starting price" for the "starting price wheel" is 19-21# and is ~$1k/wheel. Add the goodies that make it lighter, and you're looking at ~$1375/wheel. I can't see how true track junkies that drive 350Zs would even bat an eye at these beautiful wheels. There is something to be said for a wheel that can be replaced in a week at a cost of $350 versus waiting X to Y weeks (months?) for a wheel that is over 4x the cost. Honestly, I don't even know why they'd bother making wheels in "our" sizes and offsets given the fact that a set of wheels costs about 1/2 of the cost of some used 350Zs out there. I just don't see the market, though other premium brands like CCW simply custom make the wheels to order. Maybe that's who they are really competing with.

If you want an off the shelf wheel that everyone has sure Enkei makes a great product.

Each ADV.1 wheel is built for the car enthusiast. To their exact specifications. Last time I checked you had to have a face wheel for Enkei. You can't go wider than 10.5 and offsets are static. Colors are only black silver blue SBC or GOLD.

ADV.1 makes a wheel that any offset can be achieved along with any width up to 15" and any color combo.

If you read more the whole post you would see that although the starting price of the wheel is around 4k we are offering a special under neath that price.

Turn around time on ADV.1 is 3-4 weeks for the Trak Function.

Another benefit is to multipiece wheels is that if you damage a wheel the whole wheel does not have to be replaced. We can simply replace the part that is damaged and turn around time is very fast.

Adv.1 is not for everyone. That is why there are many different manufactures from Varrostoen to top of the line like ADV.1 and HRE.

These look beautiful. @scott, while I see what you are saying, I think the reality is that most people on our forums would buy these more for looks (with the added benefit of light-weightedness) than for actual track use. I'm not saying that's a bad thing, and also not saying that there might be some people who actually buy these as a dedicated track wheel, but I think they would be in the minority.

Wow, with all the Volk/Work/BBS love here, I'm surprised to see so much hostility towards ADV1 for their purported prices. I think they've come a long way since the 360Forged fiasco on 6speed and etc in terms of customer service and reliability. As for 1300 bucks a wheel...who cares? I'm sure that is in some people's budgets if 3-4k Volks are. Don't we, on the flip side criticize Rotas and Varrstoens for being cheap? Odd cognitive dissonance there.

These wheels look amazing and while I'm not sold yet on the 'track' nature of them, they IMHO have among the best designs in wheels I have ever seen irrespective of true weights.
I'd definitely rock a set on my next car, I don't think a G35 needs such exotic wheels...

Case in point: one of a few 458's I've seen with wheels and this one just kills it.

Disclaimer: I have Volk CEs on my car and don't have any contact with ADV1. Thought I'd pre-emptive that, you know, before the paranoid police come around. Just though the response was interesting about markets and etc...

two trains of thought:

1) it's to say that the wheels are so sexy, that you would want to make love to them every time you see them...

or

2) they just dont like my current line of wheels and insist on mocking them as they are not on status par with a ADV1.
