Default Need HELP on wheel purchase

hello everyone,

I found a nice set of 19x9, 19x10 AME Shallen CX rims that I am thinking about getting. I have an 03 350Z, tein flex coilovers and thats about it. Im using this car as a daily, so I am going for a flush, dd look. Nothing crazy with negative offsets, but something with a little bit of poke and style.

The front rims are +18 and the rears are +24. I went to the guys house, tried the wheels on and the rear is just not sitting the way I want it. To me it seems the rear rims need to have a lower offset.

We have agreed to a price at $1200 for the complete set. The tires are brand new, 99% tread left, falkens. The rims are in good shape. Hard to explain exactly what is wrong with them, but overall they are probably an 8/10. No bends, major rashes, but the 2 fronts have a very small amount of chrome chipping. Not a huge deal, but still some there.

So this is where I need advice:
1. Im not completely satisfied with the fitment of the rear, but maybe spacers will help? Not aggressive enough in my opinion.
2. The price. They are definitely not perfect, but its hard to come across a package like this locally with awesome tires, and cool wheels.

Other info that may be helpful for getting advice. Tires up front are 215 35 19, rear are 235 35 19.

Sorry, no pics of how the car looked, but I know most people know what the shallen cx's look like. Use your imagination. I'm looking to make a decision next week. Any help is appreciated.

Oh and we agreed that he throw in some lug nuts and spacers if that makes any difference.

It sounds like those tires have a decent stretch. If you don't use spacers on it will look dumb b/c of the high offsets. A 10-15mm front and20-25mm rear would be near flush

The "normal" flush rear setup would be 10½" +22 (approx), so yes, 10" +24 would not be as flush. A 15mm spacer would be good.

The tires are useless, they are way too small. Typical setup would be 245/35 front and 275/35 rear.

Explain why you don't like spacers? I just want to know your reasoning.

Spacers vs hub-wheel integrity is a subject that goes back to the beginning of time. Doubt if anything I say here will end the debate.

215 on 9" rim and 235 on 10" rim

Since you'll probably want new tires anyway perhaps just buy a set of enkeis and call it a day?

Throw away the tires and get meaty tires. That's what's probably not looking right.

davidv - im not trying to start a debate, i just wanted to know why YOU didnt like spacers. Maybe you can give me something to think about.

How does the price seem to everyone? Does it jump out as a great deal, or just "meh"?

The price seems good to me. In your shoes (assuming you like these wheels), I would sell the tires and buy wider tires. This will help make the rear wheels appear more aggressive because the rubber will help fill that wheel gap.

a. You have compromised hub-wheel integrity by adding 5 more lugs.

b. A short lug is stronger than a long lug. That's is just common sense.

c. The Z was not designed with spacers.
