Hey guys, I'm new to this forum and I have a quick question. I've been searching the forum for an answer all day today, but I haven't found anything yet. I've seen quite a few Z's around here that are running a 20x11" wheel setup in the rear. I'm thinking about buying a set of wheels that are 20x11" for the rears with an offset of either +35 or +15 (which offset would you recommend?) For the fronts I'm thinking about running a 20x9 with a +15 offset. Will these wheels fit properly, or will I have to do any modifications to get them to fit without rubbing? Especially the 20x11" ones in the rear. Thanks for your help. I appreciate it.

Also, I own a 2005 350z Enthusiast in case you needed to know for fitment purposes.

+15 would require a roll and stretchy tires - 275/30 probably. Or some serious negative camber. I would prefer +35 and run a 305 tire, but not sure I've seen a Z on 20" 305s.

 

Welcome. If you can think of it - it has been done. You can find plenty of examples here. Just look.

 

With the +35 offset would the wheels be flush with the fenders, or would I need to add some spacers into the mix as well? I plan on lowering the car with springs at least 0.6"-0.8" or so.

Please put a 19" wheel up front for balance.

Please get +15 offset rear and do a legit pull and flare.

What's your problem? lol I would get the +15; however, I don't really want to pay to get my fenders rolled. I'm not looking to go slammed or run negative camber anyways. I'm not a big fan of the staggered 19" in the front and 20" in the rear, I prefer the same size all around. That just looks weird to me, but the widths can be different. To the guy that posted before, they're not chrome. Haha they are gloss black with a deep 5.25" chrome lip on the rear, and a 3.25" lip on the front. In my opinion, it'll look pretty good. It's my DD, so I'm not worried about the whole 20" loses performance issue. We drive a 300hp car, so I doubt a 20" wheel will drag that much.

 

phew glad its not chrome. pretty aggressive setup you got planned. what wheels may i ask you have in mind? and why not 20x10 in the front to keep it proportionate? as suggested a roll would be good to prevent rubbing depending how beefy a tire you get. stick with 35 or 30 sidewalls too

 

Well, I plan on running a 245/30/20 in the front on the 9, and either a 275/30/20 or a 285/30/20 on the rear 11's. I would run a 10 in the front; however, the wheels I'm looking at only come in a 9 or an 11 at the 20" size. Specifically made for a staggered setup. By the way, I had chrome wheels on my old car and they were a pain in the butt. Chrome peeled like crazy, I was always taking them in because they'd leak. I've learned my lesson to stay away from chrome. lol The wheels I'm looking at getting are the new XXR 526 that are going to be released soon.

If I were to go with the +15 offset, I would definitely need to roll the rear fenders? Also, would there be any other fitment issues such as rubbing after that?

You will def need a big pull. Finding someone to help do the job
Right is important. I'm not sure if you should cut and pull or just
Pull. You may also need a rear camber kit to make it all work.

Tire choice is also going to be a big factor. Try a used tire shop to
Work out exact brand/fitment w/o spending money on new tires
Right away.

The 19" front will add balance to the whole look.
20" up front will look big and potentially silly.

That said, let's figure out who can help you with your fender

from the OPs description of the wheel color size and offsets, i am guessing you are talking about XXR 526s.

Am i correct?
Just be aware that they are very heavy.. i just cancelled my order for them.. they still also have ZERO clue when the 20x11s will even be shipped from overseas yet. As of today, there is NO boat on the water for those wheels yet.

 

id roll those in +15 offset all day long and get the fenders rolled.. its a very simple job man.. it wont ruin your car.

See, that's what makes me nervous. If all it would take is rolling the fenders I'd be perfectly fine with running the +15 offset. However, it'll take a roll/cut and a pull? That reallyyy makes me nervous lol And to the poster before, yes I know they are heavy. I won't be purchasing the wheels for another four months yet so that gives the 20x11 time to show up here in the states. Also, those wheels aren't nearly a percent of the weight of our car. So I highly doubt it'll effect performance that bad on our 300hp engines. Let alone I'm not tracking the car, so it's not a big deal to me. So down to the basics, the +35 is the way to go if I don't want to do any fender modification, and the +15 would require a roll and a pull to fit properly? I plan on lowering the car on springs in the future.

 

embrace the concept of trying to make your car the best it can possibly be.

if you find someone that knows what they're doing the roll/pull is EASY.
