Default Rotas, Tires, sizes,?? need a little help from the pros

Im looking to get rota grids very soon. 18x9.5's

First question. Wheeldude is about the only place I have seen them and it appears to be a good option. But, is it possible to get 10.5's anywhere and will wheel dude sell 2 9.5 and 2 8.5 for the front or should I even bother to get smaller in front?

Second question. Im looking to get normal tire in front even with side walls.. average tire purchase. But on the back I want a little bigger to stay in the 3 percent but i want a tire that is wider than the wheel to give it that aggressive concave look.

There is a blue z in another older rota post I found searching and I love it. But I'm currently running stock suspension so with the aggressive tires will I have to roll my fenders? Im fine with rolling them to get the inner lip flush but I do not want to have to roll them wider than they are.

Last but not least I have heard rota is top of the line mid grade wheel. But when I searched flaws on rotas I seen more post than I expected on google and have begun to think if they are as good as I first presumed. I live in a area that has great roads and ***** roads also... most potholes I can avoid no problem but that occasional surprise pothole pops up where redneck randy tried to drag a plow down the road with his truck and it falls outta the bed.

Just need some input what is available, I should get for rear and front and if aggressive tires are gonna be more hassle than they will be worth?

Thanks in advance guys!

you can go 8.5 all around or 9.5, or go with varrsteon and get 18x9.5/18.10.5 or if you want to be like the volk army go with TE37 resonable set up is 245/40 front 275/40 back
stays even no vdc problems

thread
mods lockdown!!

Thanks I'll check out the varrsteon's and I would love the te37's just do not want to afford them right now. Will it mess with my vdc to have wider aggressive tires on the back? Stay height wise inline?

no vdc problems. 18x9.5 -18x10.5 245/40 front 275/40 rear, if thats to much pudge for you,you can go 255/35 and 285/35 just make sure you get some springs or coils so your not 4x4 status

Why bother with Varrs, get a nice set of Enkei RPF1 or PF01 wheels. Better quality, lighter and hardy more money.

I had Enkei RPF1's 18x9.5/10.5 +15 on 245/35/18 - 275/35/18 with no problems and I have 19x9.5/10.5 TE's on 255/35/19 - 285/30/19 no traction control issues either.

You can run 18x9.5 all around yes. 245-275 mm tires will be fine. Lots of potential combinations.

WheelDude is the exclusive US dealer for the 18" Grid, you will not find these anywhere else in the US. The wide 18" mold can be made in 18x9.5 and 18x10 fitments, both look identical as they share the same mold. In the past they've imported 18x10 +25 and +10 but the more common size would be 18x9.5 +20 (in terms of availability, color options, etc..). Just call them and see what they have available. I'd suggest doing the 18x9.5 +20 non staggered setup though as it looks great and fits well.

I would recommend a 245/40/18 or 255/40/18 front and 275/40/18 rear. These tires will fit well on the wheels and will be compliant with VDC as they are a match to your OEM tire diameter. The 255/40/18 in front will have less tire stretch (straighter sidewall) and will be prone to less understeer.

The tires I suggested above will work just fine with stock suspension and even on a lowered car. If you plan to go wider than a 275 tire in the future (these wheels do accommodate wider tires) then you will have to roll the rear fenders.

Rota makes a quality cast aluminum wheel. The parent company (PAWI) manufactures wheels for OEM applications in the Philippines. The reason they often get "hated" on (especially on this forum) is because they are a "replica" wheel. The Rota Grid for example is of similar style to the Volk Racing TE37. The broken wheel images are from serious accidents where no wheel would survive. Due to this "hate" from certain people, competing companies, etc.. you will often find slanderous remarks or the occasional motivational poster The wheels surpass all JWL/VIA test standards and are perfectly safe to run on the street or track

I've got a set of Rota P45Rs in 18x9.5 all the way around. The previous owner of my Z bought them from wheeldude 4 years ago. He didn't have any problems with the wheels and I haven't either in the 3 years I've owned the car.

I plan to buy a set of RPF1s because I want a good lightweight wheel. The rota isn't the heaviest wheel, but it isn't the lightest either. It's just fine for street use.
