Sell your 17" wheels and get the proper sizes tires for your 18"s

rim width doesn't matter, tire dimensions do.

you could run a 11" in the front and a 9" in the rear if you put 245F and 275R

Am I missing something here. Run the 225 on the 18x8.5 in the front and get some 245 and run them on the 18x9 in the rear.

Thanks guys for the help so far, I know this must seem a strange question.

Have the money, just don't like wasting ya know?

I was told a 225/50/18 wont fit my fronts for my car on 18" rims. (04 Z coupe) That's why I'm thinking as I am.

Same guy that said that held up the tire against my wheel well to show me, it clearly looked too tall to fit my front wheel well? You guys know otherwise? Would be GREAT to put these on front and just buy rears.

Thx for any added help you can give,

I have the loot , but I don't like spending the loot needlessly if a viable solution works just as well as buying something that I just didn't need. This leaves me with more loot for my next wants, like exhaust and Koni Yellows

Thanks for all the posts, although I'm not quite sure if my one question was answered about fitting a 225/50/18 on the fronts of my 04 Z?

Can a 225/50/18 be run as fronts and it fit ok? I have two Yokohama Advans that are practically perfect (the 225/50/18), just confused on if 225/50/18's will actually fit in my front wheel wells and turn ok?

Once I know this, I'm all set for Plan A. (Plan A being buy two tires and use the Advans I have)

Plan B is buy all four tires new, and instead of buying a staggered setup, I'm debating running square with 245/40/18 so I can rotate tires.

ALL HELP APPRECIATED

Thanks guys, you're a big help and I'm close to making my purchase, just need to know about those 225/50/18s in the front

I doubt they fit ..it would look horrible with a 50 in the front ..plus you want to buy koni yellows to lower it ... Suck it up and buy proper tires ..or you can save tons of money and get a hatch civic

Default 225/50/18 on FRONTS of 04 350Z ? (SBG)

Quick and easy...

Can I run Yokohama Advans in 225/50/18 on fronts of my 350z?

18x8" rim.

If the rim were 18x8.5", would that change anything?

Thanks guys, really need the answer to this,

I want the Koni Yellows (set on full soft) for the softer ride yet retains sporty handling, didn't realize they would lower the car as well? Thx for the info.

Leaning toward buying all four tires, but I don't learn if I don't ask. Thanks for bearing with the new guy.

Anyone else?

Sell the 17''s and sell the 225/50/18''s tires and get four 245/40/18 if you want a square setup.

Believe I have addressed your wheel-tire concerns, but for some reason you continue to ask the same questions over and over. You do not study the tools that I give you? Sorry but I must say good bye forever.

If he's ^^ answered it, why do you keep asking?

My opinion is that I'd never run something with a larger sidewall than stock, regardless of anything else.

Thanks guys for the help thus far. To answer some questions as I build online-relationships here...

Why? Because I have two Yokohama Advans that were given to me free basically and are in perfect condition. Great tire, and even greater if they fit. Money savings would be a plus, plus I'd avoid the hassle of dealing with the craigslist crowd in trying to sell while getting thirty emails offering half my my price.

Not sure what DavidV is getting so huffed up about? David you haven't answered my 225/50/18 on fronts question directly, nor have I asked it over and over? I'm asking different questions about different options surrounding using my 225/50/18s. I've asked about using them on fronts? on backs? On different sized rims? And I've said I'm new, so maybe a little patience is a more friendly choice on your part. If that's too much to hope for, then thank you sincerely for your efforts to help as I know we're strangers and you're just trying to be helpful. I do appreciate it, just not sure how help turned into frustration. Either way, like I said, glad to have gotten good info from you as I have lots to learn admittedly.

God Bless, and see everyone around the forum. I'm sure I'll have more questions, and will be glad to help over time as well as I learn more.

To reduce clutter I have merged your 3 threads into one thread since they all are basically the same subject.

Please do not create another thread without searching for the answer prior

Thanks for the help guys.

Not sure why I'm being told to search first before I ask a question? I've searched many times in lurking through threads prior to asking, have found nothing to specifically answers my question. And I have searched as well even recently. Someone have a quote from a thread that answers my question before I asked it?

Besides, sometimes it's just faster to post a question and have someone post an answer faster than I can wade through a bunch of threads?

Looks like I'm buying a set of four new tires one way or another though, just deciding now on what priorities to apply in my tire search.

Thanks to all, and see everyone around the forum.
