How do you ship wheels?
How do you guys package and ship wheels with tires on them?
I will soon be selling my stock 17 inch 7-spoke wheels with tires on them, but I have no idea how to pack them. It seems like they are heavy enough that in just a cardboard box they would either rip through, or something would poke through and scratch them.
I would appreciate any ideas or tips.

My wheels were shipped to me with just a cardboard circle covering both sides of the wheels. The cardbord was just taped to the tires real well.
I sold my OEM wheels and tires and shipped them the same way. No problems.

Container Store has heavy-duty 20x20x12 boxes. Pick up plenty of the BIG CUSHION bubble wrap as well and drop a sheet in the bottom, wrap it around the wheel and on lay a sheet on top before you seal it up. Two 28 lb. 18s cost me ~$35 to ship from TX to MO via UPS.

This sounds like the easiest and cheapest way to go. I thought about this before, but I wasn't sure if shippers would accept them like this.
Which shipper did you use that accepted them this way?
(anyone who has done this, please let me know which shippers accept this).

I would call UPS, Fed ex or Mailboxes etc and see what they recommend.

I got lucky -
When I sold my G35 Coupe 18" wheels, my local Discount Tire store offered to package and ship them for me. Only cost me $70.00 to ship all four. No fuss, no muss. Great Guys, Discount Tire.

AndyB,
I shipped via Fed Ex. NC to Florida was $65 or 68 ish. I dropped them off at one of their full service centers. The guy at the counter told me they ship wheels and tires that way all the time.
Good luck......

Yup...Mail boxes etc. changed names to UPS store. " Mail Boxes" was owned by UPS anyway, just changed names. They shipped 4 Track wheels and tires to Canada from New York for $204.00. They cut out circular cardboard to prtotect the wheels then strap together two at a time to ship.
