haha nah, i have been doing a lot to my Z in the past 2 months (just bought it) and its coming together pretty sweet, it was 100% stock, and ive spent quite a few $$ already haha.. most recent thing i did, and idk how its going to look, was repainted my center dash.. it had some scratches and was super easy to get scratched, and i ended up putting a clear coat over the flat black vinyl spray i used, so its kinda glossy but it might look good, i literally just put it back in the car tonight, so i wont know till tomorrow =/ if anything ill just have to wet sand it to make it dull if i dont like the gloss look. (hope that works if i decide to do that lol)

these Z's must have had some major soft paint inside and out... cuz not only is the interior super soft... but the outside paint gets rock chips super easy on my hood

Just what I was about to tell you to take a look at!

Great choice and it has a great price too!

I was going to show you this one from Avantgarde as well!

No lip, but so sexy! If I track more, this would def. be my setup!

OP, you need to look into forgestar wheels.

if you can spend 1500 bucks on wheels alone, know that my F14 models in Bronze Burst cost me 1700 shipped.. and they are 20x9.5 and 20x12 out back and are very light monopiece wheels. you can certainly get into a sick soncave wheel that performs VERY well in a mean offfset from a TRUE quality custom wheel manufacturer. If you want true multi piece that remain light and far cheaper than Work VSXX, please check out Forged Specialties wheels. Very cool stuff.

If you want that big lip, you are looking at multipiece wheels, period.. and they are quite a bit heavier than a monoblock wheel. Your offset and fitment is critical, why buy nice wheels and ahve them look "ok" when buying something w a custom aggressive offset would be so much nicer..

Look up www.rimtuck.com to see the range of ridiculousness that you can pull off w a Z. I would never hellaflush MY daily car, but i gotta be honest, it looks super cool.. if i had two of em, id do it. Its a very simple and cheap way of modding a 350z while still getting a very wild overall look.. anyways..
WHY AM I SUDDENLY BEING SO NICE??? haha.

If you want a wheel that LOOKS like it has a lip, the lip wont be that big.. and its just a polished section of the same one piece cast wheel. ie Axis, Avant Garde etc.

Trust me, you want a light wheel on the Z.

Theres a million and one options.. you wil not find your answer using this thread... only by showing up to the site, looking at pictures, talking to vendors etc. will ytou find what you want. Take some time, learn more about the car, i guarantee you it will affect your final purchase.

Search for Get Your WHeels, they are a vendor on here,, tons of threads, and at that budget, you can really get a great wheel if you take some time to look.
Unless you track.. man.. get some bigger wheels. the price difference between 18s and 19s for tires etc is more, but honestly, who cares? Aint a cheap car to begin with, get what you really want, een if it means saving a bit longer... i promise you.

I thought my car was fine mostly stock, then only did small stuff to it.. then i decided id do a kit etc.. finished the car... and then re did everything the next year as I truly wanted it in the first place in 2005.

good luck op.

yeah nice post, the avant gardes are 20x9 20x10 (they dont come in 19s) and the fronts are only 25 lbs (same as my stock ones) and the rears are about 28.. so only a few lbs heavier, and i still get that deep lip and it looks good, one major thing i was worried about was them being 20s... but for the price and look i think its going to be worth it, and the tires are cheaper than 19s. some people might flame me for going with 20s, but they offsets are +15 front +20 rear and from what i hear +12 front +22 rear is pretty flush so i should be sitting pretty good im hoping.

Please don't get 20s. You're going to regret it. I've read many posts where people regret going to size 20. Tires are cheaper the smaller you go. Trust me, when the time comes to replace your tires, you'll wonder why you're paying so much for something that wears out so quickly, especially on these roads.

its 200$ more for tires for 19's than it is for 20s, and its a hit or miss with 20s, some people say they are awesome and feel fine, others hate them... if i could get them in 19s i definately would =/

edit: im real scared to go 20s because people say they suck on the Z, but with the right offsets they look good.. im just worried about if its going to be a rough ride =/

If you drop the car, you're going to have to roll the fenders. And it definitely will be a rough ride. It's hard enough on 18s.
