Default 18" Touring rim suggestions ?

OK, I have a dilemma...I like the stock 18" rims on my 03 CS Touring. I have the TPS, which I am not willing to part with, so I have been debating whether to get track rims, g35 rims, or jsut get mine refinished. My rims are in great shape but as you all know, the finish on the stock rims is crap...one trip to a tire shop and your rims are not the same. So, I have had my fronts refinished already.

Aside from getting g35 or track rims and installing my TPS in them... what can I do to make my rims more durable. I was thinking about sending them out to get chromed (any reputable places ??), but it may be a little too much chrome for me. Has anyone refinished their stock rims for a different, but more durable look ? I have passed on a couple nice sets of rims, but I am not sure I want to part with the stock rims.

Any ideas are appreciated. My car is up for the wintetr here in PA, so I have 3-4 months to get any wheel work done...so now is a great time for suggestions. All opinions are welcome.

Thanks.

If you really like them, and are not planning on a tire size change, than by all means keep them. IMO, get a good powder coating in your choice of colors. Chrome is too much for my taste, and polishing requires lots of upkeep. I've had first hand experience with both. A polish job, with a good clearcoat would be durable. You have lots of options. Keep us up to date.

had the same problem w/my rims.... the dealership scratched them up when they flipped my front tires. they refinished them for me, but they aren't the same anymore. the brake dust doesn't come off easily anymore and they lost a lot of shine. It's like night and day with my rear rims... But IMO CS will look nice with dark rims...

So, I should look for a local shop who can powdercoat or refinish these ? What is the typcial cost for a job like this (all 4 rims) ? If its too expensive I will just get new rims...

THanks for the opinions.

I've read on the forums that a good powder coat job should be south of $350.00. Look around and see what you find. Before you make any decisions, however, be sure you see some of the vendor's work. You don't want some one screwing up your wheels. And yes, if it were me, I'd want it done locally, you want to be able to interact with the shop, and share ideas.

Anybody have anybody here have any real history.
