Default Half replica 3pc wheels?

Would relipping your JDM 3pc wheels devalue it's original value? I've been seeing alot of them going around and they still sell for $2500+. Custom lips on real wheels kinda seem like they'd be half replicas.

Personally, I say yes; only because they aren't the manufacturer's parts any longer. But wheels are only worth what people will pay for them. Rotiform and VR Wheels re-barrel and flip wheels all day long with fairly high price tags.

Personally, I do not believe so. Sometimes companies that relip and rebarrel wheels use the same hardware and whatnot. If the specs are what people are looking for and they've been reconditioned to look new, I don't see why that would devalue them.

Be specific and tell us what wheels you are going to relip.

I'm not relipping anything, I love the fact my Equips are all original. Most of the Equips/Vsxx I've been seeing seem to have been relipped. It's just a question of authenticity and the value of true Quility.

I would think a lot of it depends on the quality of the new lip/barrel. If you use a cheap barrel, bolts, etc, that might diminish the value of the wheels (if anyone knew?). But if you get a high quality, forged barrel, use good quality bolts, and do everything right, I would think the value of the wheels wouldn't suffer. Just my opinion though.

I think all the lips and barrels on the market are forged, so there shouldn't be a problem with strength there.
