Default Cooper ZEON RS3-A tires.

http://us.coopertire.com/Tires/Perfo...EON-RS3-A.aspx

Anyone running these? I'm still on the Base model 17in wheels and it's time for new tires and was wanting some personal reviews if anyone has any. Quiet? Good rain grip and good in light snow if I happen to get caught in it next winter?

Also can I run 235/50 all around or should I do the recommeded 225F and 235R? The previous owner installed 225's all the way around and I am just wanting to know what options I have.

I've not run Coopers on my Z.But,have run them on some other vehcles.
My experience has been with their touring tires.Excellent!
Overall,I think Cooper tires are very underated.
Question:why are you looking at these specific tires?
Just wondering...
Got a hunch not many Z owners have e'm.

Looking for a good all weather performance tire at a decent price for my stock 17's that have decent drip on dry and wet roads. Also I have not made a decision on wheels for the Z yet and my current tires are to the point to where they are dangerously bald in the rear. So I need replacements and will be ordering them next pay check.

Wish I could afford a new wheel/tire combo now but I need suspension first because the 4x4 look has to go.

This is the all-season version. I the summer is the new Pilot Sport. I have heard great things about both though.

A Google search revealed these tires have really good tread wear and are extremely quiet. To be honest tire noise drives me insane because I feel like I have to yell at my passenger and talking on a cell phone in my Z right now well.... just doesn't happen. I don't track my car or anything crazy. I just drive back and forth to work and to other various places. I do like the occasional spirited mountain drive so these may serve well for that. I just need a good quiet daily tire...

I will worry about performance tires when I decide on wheels.

Another option for a good all-season performance tire is General G-MAX AS-03. I run them in the fall and spring. Western NY gets some snow randomly in the fall and early spring so I run these when I don't have my summer tires on. Really good in wet/dry/light snow. A little more expensive than the Coopers. My cars not on the road in the winter so I don't know how they handle 1"+ of snow.

You should explore some Continetal Extreme DWS's. They've got a hefty tread rating, are quiet and have exceptional grip in shallow snow.

They're quieter than my summer tires which aren't very quiet but thats all i can compare to. They are loud on some surfaces, but for an all season performance tire they arent bad at all.

I'll be making a decision Friday as I am looking at some Falken's and Hankook's as well.

Another question... can I run 235/50-17 all the way around so I can rotate?

I've seen other members on here with that setup all around. I've heard mixed reviews as far as how it effected handling.
Are your wheels the same? I know my fronts are 18x8.0 and my rears are 18x8.5 which even if the tires were the same size, I couldn't rotate.

I'm pretty sure the base 17s are 7.5 up front and 8.0 in the rear. You won't want to rotate the bigger wheels to the front. If you want, make sure you don't buy a directional tire. At least you can rotate them side to side.

I'll just go 225f 235r for now. Should work good until I get new wheels, tires and suspension.

Thanks for the help guys.

I run Cooper RS-3S (Summer tires) and they are also great in the rain. So, RS3-As will certianly perform very well in winter.
