Default Tires With the Highest Treadwear Life

i have an 07 hr coupe. and it has the potenzas on it right now and they are showing signs of dry rot.
im looking for a tire with the longest tread life. i dont mind if they are noisy or dont give the best handling. just worried about the lifespan.i mainly drive just to and from work . i dont autocross/drift/race

any recommendations?

One of our forum sponsors Tire Rack has extensive research on tires, you might want to reference this page:

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/surveyresults/index.jsp

If you click on either of the "Passenger Tire Surveys" it will give you a chart like the following:

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/survey...ay.jsp?type=EP

If you want to do some research on our own, then note the following from the Wiki for treadwear and note the Treadwear rarting of any tire that you are looking to buy

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Treadwear_rating

Treadwear Grade Number

The Treadwear Grade describes how a tire manufacturer views the wear of a given tire. In theory, this means that a tire with a 200 grade will wear twice as long as a tire with a 100 grade. However, tire manufacturers are not under any obligation to grade a tire based on the test results, except to say that they can not overstate the grade. This is enforced by NHTSA requiring documentation to justify any assignment of a grade on a tire.
Please note: As Course Monitoring Tires have changed, their treadwear grades have changed to numbers considerably higher than 100. As a result, it would be incorrect to say that a tire with a treadwear grade of 200 gets twice the life of the Course Monitoring Tire.

I have used continental extreme contact DWS in the past and thought they were pretty good if you don't mind all seasons and aren't tracking. Really high treadware (I like to think that means something), but also comes with a great manufacture warranty. They are also inexpensive.

You might as well. Now it will perform like one but with worse MPG.

Please, get your highest treadwear life tires and show us a 5 seconds 0-60. I believe a Civic SI does it in around 6.4.

Tires,tires...you can't have it all.
Usually,if high tread life, they may be noisy and so on.
Can't have it both ways.As already commented, look at the reviews
on treadwear numbers.Do you have a budget?Personnaly,for a great
all around tire that really works on our Z's,Hankook V-12 is my
choice. However,it does not have the greatest tread life.

True story. The KDW2's are great but picture driving your z, but what you hear is similar to lifted truck tires (not 100% like it, but there is substantial noise difference)

You don't necessarily have to compromise so much anymore. The new Michelin Pilot Super Sport has longer tread life without sacrificing performance. They aren't cheap though.

According to discounttire.com they both have a 40,000 mile tread wear warranty and the Cooper RS3A is $10 cheaper than the General G-Max.

Kumho V12. Budget tire that is ok on a Z with decent tread life. Also, if you're so interested in tread life, might as well spend a few bucks on an alignment to ensure you don't buzz through those new tires accidentally.

Try tire-easy.com and think tire direct.com ( I think). They have good tires w higher tread wear also. I've purchased toyos and have a set of sunny tread that have lasted quite a while now. Not really expensive also. Just do some homework and u will def find some. Think another brand --Achilles-- I bought a set for sis a while back w a tread wear around 420++ and they were really good/ directional also.
