No matter what setup you have "someone - somewhere" will end up disliking it.
I can't count on two hands how many times I've preached this, but if your setup makes you happy, then do your thing man.

Style varies so much from person-to-person, state-to-state, so on and so forth.
If you like it, don't let these guys get to your head. There's nothing wrong with it, it's your car.

My personal preference, as is that of a majority of the community, are wheels with low offsets sitting under a lowered frame. So personally, I'd tell you to lower the car some and it'll look even better (in your eyes as well as everyone elses.)

Just my .02! Take it or leave it.

 

Hey guys, I know I messed up on the wheels and offsets didn't do the research at all before I bought them I regret it wish I knew how much I do now with research :/ but I bought them and don't want to buy new ones now I put some spacers on and they look fine to me now... Just could use lowering the rear sits kinda high, Got a MINES CF lip coming in next week, also bought Nismo style skirts and rear add ons from shine. Going to paint the uglya$$ brake calipers black this weekend the more I looked at them the more I said to myself WTF was I thinking?? But hey we all learn from mistakes now I know to do Research! Research! Research before buying something!

But most of the people were right I didn't do the research and thought it looked good until I researched some and took a good look at it but now I know!

 

There's a ways to tell someone something isn't right or not their taste. Some people are here to be a total Deutsch bag because they hate themselves their situation have a small ***** and ugly girl or none at all and need extravagant wheels to cover that up.. like I said multiple times who cares what those people think.. if we all had the same taste it'd be a boring world..

i think everyone has a different taste sure.. but most people post and flame and make comments when ppl mod and change things but are making a large DOWNGRADE while doing so.
downgrade can be a subjective term as well.. but some mods are truly objectively downgrading.. wheel fitment and quality being a very important one.

Is it cool if I replace all the glass in the car w greenhouse material corrugated siding? it certainly is different.. takes forever too.. end result? Uh.. no bueno.

Thats all most ppl are really saying.. mod how youd like.. jsut dont downgrade your car w vastly inferior componenets.. you dont need Volks to run a good wheel.
Drive a car like mine w as light a 20 as you can find and still.. get in a car w a set of 18" RPF Enkeis and youll wonder ( as I often do) what the hell? these are awesome. ANd they arent spendy at all.. makes your car very fun at the same time.
that being said, its also not a Ferrari like some like to think.. but.. buy items that are correct for the vehicle and application and no one can or will judge.

Youngsters get these cars and straight ruin them.

bmccann is right, we need to educate the newcomers on how to mod. its like parenting, if you dont guide your child show him morals etc. then that child will grow up to no good.

 

I'm on my galaxy nexus. It auto corrected to that lmao didn't even notice. Just let people have their own style. Don't coach them to have the same style as you.. let them be.. someone shouldn't be flammed and bashed and made feel like **** because their or their style is different. There's no official rule book saying this style is wrong..

Op you do you. Don't get sucked into buying name brand because its the In thing. Just cuz its a name brand doesn't mean its nice..

Hey you are definitely right, everyone has their opinion I love the wheels now the spacers made them look alot better... IMO I would never ever ever pay so much for volks! They are awesome but the price is just crazy... I could of just get a car loan when I bought the car but I didn't it was payed for in cash I rather have no payments on my car than to drive around with volks, don't mean to offend anyone that has volks props to you for having nice wheels, for me my wheels are nice now the spacers did what was needed.

 

Expensive wheels come with aggressive specs which a lot of sub par aftermarket wheels does not. People who don't research their wheel specs fall into 2 traps when buying - wrong fitment and affordable price (this I understand).

Looks are subjective but fitment isn't!

Example - hellaflush cars... some of them have the ugliest wheels (subjective) but the fitment makes up for it.
