My Z :) Just got new wheels!
theres a couple threads about it on the Varrstoens Thread. To make this story short....Varrstoens wheels are made of cast iron. Easy to crack once it hits a pothole. i even heard and seen pictures of another z member and he drove his car at high speeds and one of the rim cracked so badly that the outer rim got separated completely. Real authentic wheels like Volks, Work, Advan, DPE or even HRE....they're the best of the best and yet lightweight too. Those wheels are forged and only bends after any kind of impact.

2 things: The only Vars KNOWN to have pore durability are the BBS/CCW reps. The TE37 reps are fine. There's a metric shitton of G/Z's with'em and haven't had any issues. The Work XD-9 reps have had a good longstanding reputation as well. According to the interwebz though, any rep wheel is crap cuz only expensive wheels are properly made.
2) the issue is more the stuff he chose to do the car. If you are "waiting on parts", then just wait on parts. Why do stuff twice? The whole "I'm plastidipping because I'm waiting thing" seems bogus. You're plastidipping becuase it's an inexpensive way to achieve a look you want. Just own up to that OP. And buying wheels that don't fit for your car is NEVER a good look. Just save up and buy the RIGHT part the first time out. Patience is usually the difference between a well built car and a pot-o-rice.

I believe Varrstoens are gravity cast aluminum wheels.

Don't get discouraged. Everyone has bought stuff for their car and later thought "wtf was I thinking?" It's your car, do what you wish with the budget you have. Browse through the forums and see what you like and go from there.
Yea man don't worry what people think everyone has their on style. Not everyone can afford $5000.00 work wheels even tho we all want them. Get your self some spacers and you'll sit perfect. I have a set of 20mm brand new they'll go perfect on the rear. The z can be tricky with offsets and back spacing. Seems like the more aggressive you go the easier with the wide fenders. Roll fenders and go to town
