Default Falken Ziex ZE-612 or Hankook Ventus V4?

Which would you guys get and why?

I had the Hankook on my Z when I first got them but they were used from the 10K I put on them they were very sticky and good in all weather.

I don't drive in snow so that's not a worry of mine.

Hankooks hands down.
I don't like Falken's.All I've seen are extremely noisy.
I would imagine in your area you want more of all-season tire.
If your car is not being driven in the snow or in icy conditions,
the Hankook Ventrus V-12 would be my choice.

Thanks, I actually do agree with you. I personally never used Falkens on any of my vehicles but I know Hankooks offer a good ride.

I have seen the Hankook V12 but I simply can't afford them.

But thanks guys I will be getting the Hankook V4's! Plus I drive my 350z until the snow hits so about October/November. And this is when the roadways can be very cold (40*) but still without snow, a performance summer tire would be a bit dangerous.

I am running Ventus V12's on my Z (19") and on my STi (17"), and so far I have been happy with both. But no more than ~4k miles on either set. So far, my impression is that they are a more "comfortable" summer tire, and seem to be a good tire for the price paid. I cannot comment yet on longevity, though.

I would think just based on their platform level (summer tire), that they wouldn't last as long as let's say all season. But from what I've researched this is the best tire out there in this price range.

They seem very sticky, and comfortable as well.

Should I buy 4 235's?

I know the z goes through rear tires, and my fronts are almost brand new. And they don't wear nearly as fast as the rears.

My rears at this point have 30% tread left. I was going to replace them after it gets out of winter storage.

Easiest way to tell the higher the tread wear rating, the harder longer lasting they are. The lower the softer and stickier they are but don't last as long. Go to tire rack and compare them.

I have V12s in the back ( came with the Z) and I put KDWs in the front.

I have felt the V12s slip in the rear when wet, but the I know from my past cars the KDWs hold like theres no tomorrow.

They are costly though :/

I mean buying 4 235/50/17 so I have two for when my rears go. I'm keeping them staggered. There is a promotion for $50 off if you buy 4.

I know they wear a lot faster then fronts.

Is it common for the 350z to slip in the rain? I mean it doesn't seem to put down the power to the rear wheels (only in the rain).

Having owned both V12s and FK452s, I have to agree that the Hankooks were much quieter tires. I like that the FKs though have stiffer sidewalls.

I agree that the Hankook sidewalls seem soft, which I think contributes to their "comfort".

Usually those sales will go towards 4 of a brand tire doesn't have to be same size you'll just get the cheapest tire free..

Ahhh okay, i wasn't sure how they work it normally.

I wish I had the funds for the Hankook V12 but they are a lot more than the V4.

That's what I don't want. The z is noisy enough.

I had Hankook V4's on my car originally and they were very responsive and quiet.

Definitely. I wish they offered a reinforced version of them, because the sidewalls seem too soft for my preferences. Otherwise I have no complaints about that tire.
