Tires for commuting in the Z?
That's very good information, thank you Bret. Currently, my front RE040s are down to 2/32" and are generating an obscene amount of road noise. I just don't want the Generals to do this.
edit - Couldn't wait anymore, I bought the Generals. Tire rack says they only take a day to ship, so hopefully I can install them over the weekend.

According to the tire performance rating on tire rack, they scored well in wet performance.
It will be up to you how much you care about tire noise. I think the Z is a noisy car in general due to lack of sound deadening, so I don't give to much thought to tire noise.
FYI the General's scored higher in every single category compared to the Ventus, which is hard to overlook.
Treadwear ratings for the tires you are considering:
Ventus: 420
General: 480
Ecsta: 420
For reference, the treadwear rating for summer tires is typically between 150-300. So any one of your choices should last significantly longer than a summer tire.

Got my Bridgestone RE970 Pole Positions put on today and so far I am pretty damn happy with them. Did 40 highway miles on them this afternoon and was very impressed with the grip and sporty ride they give the car...and WAY quieter too...what a difference. I will add an update after a few more weeks but right now I am very pleased with these tires.

So I've had these tires for 3 weeks and have put about 400 miles on them. Definitely still very happy with them...quiet ride and great feel and grip. I'd definitely recommend them to anyone considering them.

970's are an awesome tire, a bit pricey but they are super nice to drive on, long lasting and give great performance. Enjoy them!

Hi all
I live in Vancouver Canada,
I will be going over to Washington to buy tires for my 350Z 18" wheels.
I'm hoping someone knows of a retailer they can recommend...
Address or name of retailer...and if you know of a place that offeres good prices...etc
I need to buy tires soon, so any help would be very much appreciated...
Thanks to anyone for help or leads you can provide...
Cheers

Whatever you do, don't get RE040 or RE050, they both SUCKK.
I love my BF G-Force KDW2 but it sounds like there not for you. THey have great wear but they are loud as fukk!
I had PZero Neros on my Civic and they were quiet as hell, fairly decent grip and lasted a long time. Not sure if they have sizes for the Z or you would have to get the Rossos

Forgot to mention, since you live in the tri-state area also, I wouldn't get an all-season tire. I would get a dedicated summer tire and a dedicated winter tire. Look on the forum for people selling winter sets for cheap, that is what I did last year and I got a great deal.
