Default Question on tire sizes

Ok, I have been reading this forum since last Jan, and have been paying close attention to what people say on the size of tires, and having VDC problems, But I am confused... So please don't refer me to the Sticky on Tires. The question that I have is that I have contacted 2 differant rims contractors and they say that you can have the same size tires on all 4. But I know that some people have been having problems. So here is my specific question.

I am getting 20" (no flames) and they are going to be 8" wide all around. They recommend 245-35- 20 with 35 offset. do you all think that is wise? Or would you change something and why.

Thanks for the help in advance. <M>

I'd put a wider tire on the back so that I maintain the proper size differential between the fronts and the rears. And, to make the wider tire fit a littel better, I'd get at least a 9" wide rear wheel.

Put the 245 up front and run a 275 or 285 on the rear.

Also, why put a skinny tire on the back of a RWD sports car? You give up performance. And, the car will just look funny with a skinny 20" tire on the rear. I have an image in my head of a 350Z with old-west wagon wheels

Is there a particular reason that you WANT the same skinny tires all around???

I would like to have 9" in front and 10" in the rear. That is the way I had them on my BMW, but the rims that I like only come in 8.5" (sorry not 8") The rims that I want are branzach BZ 11. I can't find them any wider. If you have any suggestions on a rim that looks similar please feel free to make suggestions.

Btw.. Another store that I went to was going to put 245 on front and 255 on back. Would that be better. Thanks <M>

I don't know too many wheels that look like that... maybe something from Zenetti??? 9"/10" would be great on the Z! But, if you can do 8.5 front and rear you can run the same size tires that I run on my Rays wheels.

I have 245/40 on the front and 255/40 on the rear... on the Ray's Track model wheels... they work fine and look good. Granted... mine are 18" wheels, so I have a different aspect ratio... That sizing should work on your 8.5" wide front/rear wheels no problem.

Hope that helps,

PeteH
