Popular Tire Recommendations
the kdw's are much better than my hankook v12s tho. i got a great deal on mine (under 200 a tire), and the muscle car/ pro touring crowd swears by them. rs3s are probably best for street/track but not legal in certain competitions due to wear rating.
I had KDWs for 2 years. Best tires for daily + water. I swear by those tires. I am running Nitto Motivo now due to my budget. Anyone have experience with these? I think they are noisy...but I cant beat the price/grip/tread
Just go to Tirerack.com dude. Find the tire survey which ranks all the tires and purchase according to your budget and your needs.
Personally I recommend the Sumitomo HTR Z III. Great price, handling capability is more than enough for the street, no problems in rainy weather, and after 15k miles I have still have plenty of tread. I expect these to last me another 15k, easily. Simply a great value.
I wouldve bought either the Michelin PSS or Bridgestone RE-11s, if I could afford them.

So 9 months later...the same set is still on the car and the outsides are just starting to go on the fronts. This is a DD and do some spirited driving 2x a month if that, which equates to about 30k total on these tires. I give the fronts another 5k before theyre due.
I would not hesitate to buy a third set after these are done.
Depends on size and driving requirements. If your number one requirement is performance, and you need something super sticky, Yokohama Advan Neova AD08 or some R comps. If you're looking for a deal then Sumitomo HTR Z III should do just fine.
Actually the HTR Zs are VERY sticky and I would say they are probably 80% of a dedicated track tire. I have never has a street tire perform like these...regardless of price.
I have 35k on my Sumitomo htrziii. Rears need replacement now, front has a touch more tread left. I've had no complaints. They are warm weather tires and when driving in winter, I've totally avoided snow. Have blizzaks for that or another car. I'm thinking of an UHPerformance all season, but I've been very very happy with the Sumitomos
