This happened to me (same crack type and location), but it happened on the front wheels. No issues or signs of it on the rears. Drivers front was total crack (leaked air within 24hrs) while the pass-side was forming (still held air, but was visible). They split the cost of repair with me and noted that of 10's of thousands this has only happened on heavier cars and people who live around cities and bridge happy roads. At this time I was driving in and out of Baltimore a lot (sh!tty roads) and had some local construction going on.
This was all two years ago and I havent bothered to use them yet out of fear, still rocking winter wheels with all-seasons.
Short of track-offs, I think daily driving is much harder on a wheel than race track conditions due to better maintained surfaces.

Most LARGER reputable companies are going to be superior to Forgestar...which is smaller and, as I understand it, the CORES are made in CHINA and shipped here for finishing and machining. Somewhere along the line, quality control has run amok with these.

obviously, sarcasm does not translate well here. haha i would love to have me some super deep concave f14's
as far as the cracks. maybe it do to it being a cheap aluminum that cant handle the rolling process. or maybe the are making it to thin is this area.
i hope forgestar address this issue. otherwise it will loose the good reputation of good whees, offsets at a good price.OTHERWISE, ill have to look else where for decent wheels.

first off the post makes no sense, if you have xxr wheels, which are $cheap$ +add superior to it(strength, material, process). you have a obvious choice. no laughing matter
second off...you cant find a better wheel for 150 NEW. ive pushed my car harder then most(autocross, 1/4 mile, mountain runs, DD), with no signs of cracks(check them this weekend as i was detailing the barrel. are they superior? NOT AT ALL. do they they crack on the rear lip? NOT THAT I KNOW OF.

NO DOUBT! the only thing i would gain though is about 4lbs lighter per wheel.(mine weigh 21 lbs) and know that if i hit a curb going to fast, the wheels wont shatter. it might be bent to crap and useless, but it wont shatter.
one day i will get me some full forged wheels. and pray to god i don t scratch them. lol

I don't know what's going on with these wheels, but they seem to have more problems % wise than other wheels. They are *flow cast* for lighter weight and strength like some others, but I don't think they have the same quality control as larger, more *established* companies. I would NOT recommend these to anyone..period.

Just FYI, powdercoating won't do anything to a forged wheel, if done right.
Lot's of OEMs powdercoat their wheels.
It usually takes hours at temperature to cause fatigue to the wheel. Most shops bake them for ~20 minutes.
The downside to PC though, is you probably wont be able to see cracks in the wheel when/if they form, since it is so durable and thick.
Anyway, sucks about the cracks. Did you check with the mfg about warranty replacement? I've always liked Forgestars too ...
