Default New Wheel possibilities!

I know "search" and I have been and may take me days to get what I want! I think I'm going to go back to 18" (or 19") and go light, good looking plus great performance. Some good feedback/ideas is welcome as I continue searching; they will be nice no doubt. Here is what I'm interested in so far: *lower priced: Enkei RPF1's like 18x9 front, 18x10.5 R., moving up in price: Advan RG2 same sizes., Advan TC3 + other Advan, Gramlight Maximum models, Volk TE37, CE28 + other Volk models. Just an example so far.

I'll get the offsets figured out; anybody who has any of these or others that have "great offsets" please let me know, I have real nice offsets without spacers now and would like to avoid using spacers unless I must. Man, just spent $10K on the Z in the past couple of months, but hey, 'gotta represent 'eh? Thanks!

I would recommend a 18x9.5 and 10.5 instead of an 8.5

Rpf1's ftw! Silver ones will look great on your Z man.

And yes 18x9.5 and 18x10.5 imo is best

18x9.5 front and 18x10.5 +15 RPF1 is a great combo, not the best. 18x10.5 front and rear can be a lot better depending on what you wrap them in.

+1... 8.5 is too weak in the front no matter how agressive the offset is, you lack width.
I've said this before: looks are subjective and fitment isnt, so buy the right wheel spec your 2nd time around. Wheels list in your 1st post are great choices with good reputation. Rpf1 would be best bang for your buck with great pricing and wheel specs plus it's light but not sure if you like the looks... somethings gotta give.

Thanks all of you guys! Yeah, I made a typo on the fronts; I meant 9", but if certain models come in 9.5 that would be the right choice. I made the first post late last night, was real tired from scanning the millions of wheels online as we all know haha! I thought 2 yrs. ago that I'd end up with RPF1's and I'm still very interested in them; some killer deals out there right now; can't beat them for the price. One reason I'm narrowing it down to them (and a few others) is because of price/performance factor; I'm going to be in the BBK market fairly soon, upgraded clutch, etc. and money wise the Enkei's make great sense; those Gramlights are a little more $$, but very attractive also. There are some awesome wheels out there that are crazy expensive and no way for them. **I wanted to ask also about the Enkei and Gramlight as far as BBK "clearance"; ok for that? If I buy a nice set new, I'd try to get the very best offsets they and I could come up with. Stock '07 (V2) 18" were like (I think!) -35 R and about -30 F. I put 25mm ichiba spacer on all 4 and that was pretty nice; I remember wishing that I had gone 20 mm all around, but kept the 25's a few yrs. until a few months ago when I went to the 20", "but" with the 20's came great offsets (I talked to the Vossen tech. guy, plus the Z guy at vivid racing where I bought them; both said exactly the same offsets) as they sit on my Z right now is +25 R and +22 (or 20?). Thanks, Randy

I run a square setup on my RPF1's 18x10.5 +15 on the front and rear. I run 15mm spacers in the rear though.

I also run 265 45 18 front and rear, just make sure you remove the top screws of the fender liner that connects to the fender and you MIGHT need to roll a little in the front depending on your ride height

Slight rub up front on the fender liner. I'm running 285/35 all around. Then I run -3.2 front camber

NEW SETUP IS NOW PURCHASED! Well guys + gals, impulsive as I am I decided that the Enkei RPF1 was it and pulled the trigger about an hour ago! Through Vivid Racing in Az. I bought "black" RPF1's, 18x9.5 fronts, 18x10.5 rears (rears weigh only 19.7 lbs.!). Offsets are +15 for both. Hankook Ventus K110 "Y" rated tires, F: 255/35/18, R: 285/35/18. New tpms sensors, mounted/balanced, cool carbon fiber type center caps. I already have the Rays gunmetal lug nuts. I should have them hopefully a week from Fri. Thanks for all of your help, posts, offers, etc.! *That is a lot of weight to shave off I humbly admit!!

I asked them about it and they said yes. I saw this post a minute ago and it pertains to clearance; this guy is selling his 18x10.5 RPF1's (all 4 same size) and he has Brembos; coincidence they are also black. I can't tell if he used any spacers; his offsets are the same as mine 15, plus my rear fenders are rolled. Should be ok, had to make a semi-quick decision as to silver color or the new shipment of black ones which they say go very fast, so I chose black.

I'm not planning on oem brembo's; I just asked him about clearance for BBK's and he said yes; that is something I surely wanted to ask about these wheels. I didn't mention oem at all. I'm interested in the akebono and stoptech; I will call him in the a.m. about this. *Now it's next day I called; they double checked with Enkei and said yes. For the brands that may be bigger size than others I'd need to get a template to use to check for clearance; I will make sure before I buy a brake kit that it will fit; I'm not in a rush right now, you know....'gotta build up some $$funds first!

The brand ***** in me would take oem brembo over akebono... stoptech over both, that's just me.

Stoptech calipers are bigger (assuming you're going 6 and 4 pot). Also make sure your rotor size fit 18" wheels! Lol, much to learn. Maybe some experience member will chime in... if not you should look through this THREAD if you haven't and do some research and ask educated questions when you call Vivid tomorrow.

Edit: this thread maybe a better reference for your answer:

I know the akebono kit uses 14" front, 13.8" rear rotors; is that a problem? Are you worried that I can't ask an "educated" question? Don't come on like a big fat Di@k man! I'm not sure quite how to catch your drift if you are giving me some crap or really helping; kind of a cocky, Mr. Goodwrench tone coming from your keypad so it seems haha! Now pay attention as this pertains to this THREAD: I already said that I asked that question, the answer was "yes". I said I'd call them again tomorrow, what's your point? *Now it's "tomorrow" and it has all been dealt with; the answer is still "yes". You going to try to school me some more Son?

Like I have said, I meant 9" fronts not 8.5; ended up with 9.5; "not too weak"! I done used some of that there education 'eh? 2nd time around will be fine as far as lightweight wheels go and RPF1's are very popular with a good rep. 1'st time around I picked the wheels that I wanted; was the right choice for me, had I gone for lightweight I wouldn't have bought them (I knew the weights and chose them anyway), a lot of fancy/some beautiful wheels some guys roll with as you know that are mostly for show and far from lightweight; the "look" is what they are after, fine with me, but probably keeps you awake at night all stressed out about "why such a bad choice"? Hey I decided to go a different route and I'm sure that I'll be happy with the change so to me I'll soon be taking off a great looking set of wheels/tires with a couple of thousand miles on them that I'm still very impressed with and love the look on my car; could care less what you think about my "first choice" Johnny! I'd imagine there are a lot of good looking wheel setups here that just may weigh a little much ya think? Sometimes I and everyone else "change their minds" about this or that, car or not about any car, etc. You ever done anything to that car of your's and just maybe later decided to change something, or just kept it quiet so nobody would try to lay it on you "thick" publicly? Geez how about a little nice job buddy or something like that, etc.?
