Carbon fiber has always been known as a good insulator of noise and vibration. I have had road racing bicycles with aluminum frames as well as bikes with carbon fiber frames. What a difference! The aluminum transmits every bit of harshness from the thin, rock hard 100 plus psi tires. In spite of being an even more rigid structure, the carbon frames do a great job of damping road vibration, and noise.

Everybody enjoys the performance of stiff low profile tires on their car. No one likes the loud tire roar that goes with it. Have you found any difference in tire noise with these wheels?

i dunno about finding a "show quality" GTR to rock those 5 spoke flower pedal designs in those super conservative offsets...

even if its a proof of concept, you gotta be able to make something better looking than that!

Jeebus you couldn't make a more attractive wheel?

Those are pretty bad...

Chebasto, i guess i should have highlighted this in the original post "we oversized the spoke pattern, because we did not know what the failure point would be so we started off safely. After many years of trial and error, finally we have a wheel design that passed CALDOT side impact testing it will be unveiled at SEMA 2013 if your lucky enough to be in the industry stop on by...more spoke patterns and wider rear and front options being developed as you read this.. thanks for the reply keep em coming, and no the rose petals are not meant for any vehicle specifically, it was our prototype , now we can design attractive spoke patterns on a 5 axis cnc

Jeebus, yes we could have started with a nice 5 spoke, but the problem was, we did not know what the barrel of the wheel could sustain, so we overbuilt the spoke wide initially, now that testing has been done, we can whittle away with cnc's to design more aesthetically pleasing spoke patterns; it's hard for anyone not knowledgeable with the design and manufacturing of advanced composites to understand why you start out with the strongest you can produce and how then you work backwards to engineer more complex designs with thinner and sexier spokes, offsets, backspacings. More advanced wheel designs are already being built in solidworks cad software, thanks for the reply and keep an eye out on our production blog please, you will see a set of these on my Blown G35 later this year, I am going with a 5 star spoke design but have not decided yet on either a Concave Design? or a deep dish design, what do YOU think about these 2 options? were manufacturing in the West Coast, Benicia, CA to be precise.http://carbonlinewheels.blogspot.com/

how do you not know the failure points of a design. aren't you modeling all this with FEA and/or solidworks simulation ?
