I'm sorry I'm a little confused, what do you mean? What kind of issues can happen and what's a safe size to get?

 

If sidewall height is wrong, the car will go into limp mode. Go as close as you can to the stock sidewall

The sizes offered in this wheels you will need a ton of stretch or to roll you fenders. If you are unwilling to roll, you will need different wheels

 

I don't really know too much about fender rolling but as far as stretched tires whats I guess the "safest" or most minimal tire I could run... just asking incase anyone has any experience. I love the wheels I just don't want to buy the wrong stuff or mess anything up. Sorry for all the questions

 

I run 9.5 and 10.5. No rubbing. Didn't roll fenders.

245/40 on the front. 275/40 on the rear. Both are slightly stretched. 9.5 is a +15 offset. 10.5 is a +20 offset. Happy?

 

Now look at the sizes and offsets offered for the wheels the person is asking about. You can compare your specs to the ones he is looking at., did your comment help him?

Id stick with just the 18s just to not mess with the cars SLIP sensor. For a 9 inch rim width wise, I wouldn't stretch that much at all. A 265/40 should work

 

18x9 +33, you could do a 245/40-18 front and 275/40-18 rear, no stretch at all. Will look a bit sunk, really not worth it, most people would not waste the money on that size wheel.

Ok you you guys think that the bigger offset is better but will require some stretching and fender rolling. Im pretty optimistic but I know nothing about the two. More or less my concern with stretching would be wrecking. Obviously I don't want my car to look stupid but I'd rather play it safe and find the happy medium. I prefer to sacrifice as little comfort as possible while improving the handling/grip as much as possible. I realize that may seem like an impossible feat but that's why I'm asking for your advice. So if I were to go with Pearl's original sizes (except 9.5 instead of the 10.5) what would be the recommended tire size to accommodate the bigger wheel that would be the most reliable/safest stretch I would need. Also I know you said something about sidewall height. Is that where the fender rolling would come into play? I don't mean to be so complicated but like I said I just don't really have the knowledge in this field so I'm sorry for now and in advanced for all upcoming questions. I really do appreciate it.

 

Well I run a +15 and +20 offset and I didn't have to roll at all and they don't rub. Clears the brakes no problem. Wheels don't poke out. Fitment is pretty damn good

 

He really needs to pick a different wheel, if you pull the specs up for these they are a bit more aggressive. A lot more aggressive in the rear 18x11 +8 is what is offered.

 

For a 9.5 wheel I use a 245/40. Just a little stretch on it and looks fine. Safest size with no stretch is 275/40.

 

245/40-18 on a 9.5 is nothing, it's at the upper perfectetly acceptable limits. Same with 275/40-18 on a 10.5 for the rear.

 

I run the 275/40 on my 10.5 rear too. Fits fine. No rub. Small stretch

 

I've pretty much got my heart set on these wheels. I'm really not trying to be too complicated here I just would like to find a happy medium. So the 18x9 has a 33mm offset and the 18x9.5 has a 10mm offset. Do you think I'd be able to go with a 245/40 tire for the front and a 275/40 for the rear? I see that you guys are pretty well known members and I really appreciate your advice. I know it's probably aggravating that I'm trying to find some imaginary loopholes in this situation but like I said if I can find a medium I'll go with it. Thanks!
