Default Confused.. Help with tire size please

I read the post about tires working with VDC enabled cars, but I'm slightly confused on it... I'm terrible with math.

Stock wheels 18x8 up front and 18x8.5 rear
Here's the deal, can I put a 245/45-18 on the stock fronts, and put a 265/35-18 on the rear without any issues with VDC or height??

Thank you!!

There will be issues as the 245/45 is a lot taller than the 265/35

There's no math involved, plug in the sizes and adjust until there's less than a 3% difference of overall diameter between the front and rear tires: http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

Figuring out the circumference of the tires on my own, because when i calculated the 245/45-18 my circumference was different than the poster from the VDC thread.

I'll check this out, thank you!

So I guess I'll avoid the 265/35-18 and 245/45-18 combo. I appreciate the help!

Awesome!! So going from 245/45-18 to a 265/35-18 makes it 5.1% difference, so it wont work

265/35 is a front tire for the Z. Just keep your car on stock tires till you can buy wheels.
