winter tire question. will 225/50/17 fit the rear?

Hi, I've searched but couldnt find answers for it. I have oem 17" rim with 225/50 at front and 235/50 at back. I want to know if 225/50 tire would fit the rear? has any one done it? thanks

Of course it will fit but it will be a little small. The normal rear snow tire size is 225/55/17,
