Since these will be track wheels, you could always get a used set of PF01s for fairly cheap.

I have 17x11 Forgelines as wets....they weigh 17lbs a piece. A little on the spendy side, but super light, even for the money.

5Zigen still in the US? Last I heard of them was back in 11. FN01s was my staple of choice over the years.

Im more of a 1/4 guy, would it make a difference if I went with a 18x9.5 rpf1 vs a 18x9.5 mb battle? When I see 17lbs vs 20-21lbs I just see a 16lb overall difference, and to me that is nothing. Am I correct in thinking this? I got a great quote on the rpf1 and I hear great things about them, but I LOVE the battles

16 lbs of unsprung/ rotational weight. not the same as having 16 lbs of weight in the trunk. the wheel weight is a huge difference.

18x9.5 NT03-M+27 are next to damn perfect for 275/35/18 all around. Got my set used for $800. Many other cars (STi and Evo) run those specs so check other forums for a good deal.

Rims are 19.9lbs, so not the lightest, but they clear many BBKs without spacers

For a 1/4 would I notice a difference? I current;y ran a 13.28@108 on the stocks. If I ran a pass using the battles, and a pass using the RPF1, would the RPF1 make that big of a performance difference? Just trying to understand the way rotational weight works

quarter mile is all about acceleration. this is where weight matters most. its takes more energy to accelerate a larger mass object.

best bang for buck for LOW WEIGHT/ STRONG WHEEL: Enkei RPF01.

That much unsprung weight would make a difference in a 1/4 mile. As little as 10lbs can make a difference. However, if you're looking to get into mid 12's you won't do it based on wheel choice. You can expect MAYBE .01-.2 sec difference based on wheels. I give the range because you could have a useless tire and all that weight loss could be for not. Transversely, with a proper tire and wheel combo, you could realistically see a difference. If you're running low 13's now, it could be the difference between being a "12-second car" or not. If you were in the low 12's, it could be the difference between whether or not you're required to run a cage and have a helmet or not.

I imediately noticed a big difference when i put my RPF1's on comparing to my stock HR wheels....everything felt noticeably better, cornering, braking, acceleration....you wont be dissapointed.

Thanks for input everyone.

I just ordered a set of 18x9.5 +15 rpf1 square setup. Time to do more research on tires... I will be going with 265 or 275.

275/35/18 or 265/35/18 all around won't upset VDC correct?

SSR comps.

18x8.5 about 16.5 lbs

18x9.5 about 18.5

enkei rpf1s are quite heavy and cheaply made IMO.

OP, this is the kind of poster you want to try and avoid taking advice from. 18x9.5 RPF1's are 18.6lbs and have a good track reputation. In fact, I would be willing to bet there are more track miles on RPF1's than just about any wheel on the market in the past 5 years. The only people I see f__ing them up are drifters who can't stop hitting curbs and walls.

enkei was a vendor for us. you wouldn't imagine how many people brought their wheel back for silly bends, broken spokes, coating flaking. even the wheels come in sometimes as bent through shipping. if you guys think that is quality, i feel sorry for you. this is personal experience more than 50 sets of rpf1 ranging diff sizes. the same people who do autocross and VIR track events that use KNS brakes (local company, vendor on here) were coming to us for these enkei wheels. i can say more than half of them came back with replacement wheels for bend, etc. you are not going to find quality and cheap. Nt03 enkei, never had a problem.

comes from shipping looking like this

quick search, validates my opinion. even some from z owners.

a guy has a video of him bending his rpf1 on the track
