275/35/19 on 19 x 8 rim
Was wondering if anyone knew if a 275/35/19 tire would fit on a rim that is 19x8. My local tire shop is trying to tell me that it will even though when I looked it up it says the smallest rim it will fit is a 9" wide. So I don't know what I should do because I do want the wider tire in the back, but all 4 rims are 19x8.
Both of the above replys are right on. Don't do it. I repeat Don't do it!
A 255/40/19 is only is only .3" taller than a 275/35, and should work. However, the 255/40/19s are recommended by the manufacturers to fit on a rim range of between 8.5" and 10", with the optimum size being 9". There will be some buldge, but it should work.
