Default Question about tires..

Im looking to get some S-03's.. Do I have to change all the tires? Im going to get the 255/40/18 for the rear. Do I have to change the front or should I keep it the same? (225/40/18) or should I go a lil bigger?

For those who dont know OEM tires for a G is 225/45/18 front and 245/45/18 for the rear.

I did 245/40-18 front and 244/40-18 rear... on the Z that sizing keeps the front to rear proportions close the OEM proportions.

I would have thought the G35c has the same 18" size tires as the Z??? That would be 225/45-18 front and 245/45-18 rear.

Ha Ha you cought me. You saw it before I could change it LOL.. I think im going to stay with the 225 for the front as wider wont realy help much in that area.. What is the lowest sidewall number? 35? Cause I wanted to get something a lil bigger then 255.. At least 265 which I was told that the stock rim could handle.. Any ideas?

you can't fit 265's on the stock wheels.

You could go as wide as a 275/40 if you really wanted to. However, this is not recommended with the 8" wide wheels. IMO its somewhat of a safety concern and it wouldn't look right either with all that tire bulge. There was a big debate about this a month ago in the g35 forum. I personally just ordered 245/40 and 255/45 - wider rubber, overall diameters are close (exact for the front), and eliminates some understeer.

Unless different tire brand/treads bother you, you could keep the fronts as they probably have plenty of tread left. I would go with 255/45 (closer to overall stock diameter) or 255/40 for the rear.

1nate7 gives good advice. Listen to him, except I would not put 255/40s on the back, too low. 255/45s are fine though.
