Exclamation Need help removing lug nuts!

So I've been trying to change the brakes and rotors to my 2003 350z that I've owned for a little over a year now, but I can't even remove the tire. Who ever the original owner was put 18" tires all around with custom rims. 16mm is too small, 17mm is too small, 17mm extra thin/deep socket is too big, 18mm is way too big. I can't take these stupid lug nuts out and no mechanic or tire shop nearby will help me. Thanks in advance! Any ideas would be delightful.

Extra info: A few months back I took my Z to Sams Club to plug a hole in my tire (they do it for free) and I watched them take it off. I went to Sams Club yesterday and asked if they could help me find the right socket size and after a few minutes they were baffled and confused and had no clue how they did it the first time. I feel royally screwed but there has to be a way!

Pictures are helpful. Did you try standard sockets?

Maybe the guy at Sams Club kept your lug key during your first trip in. Hammer some turbo sockets on and get new lugs is what I'd do.

As far as I can tell, these aren't locking nuts that need a key (car didn't come with a key, or jack, or socket wrench or even a spare tire) I'm currently on my phone but I'll post pictures when I'm on a pc.

@turboed350Z that's my biggest headache. The 17mm hits the walls of the lug. The extra thin just goes around the lug nut.

I think the op meant 17mm is too short but said too small. It's your tools, you need thin walled deep sockets.

I think you are dealing with lock nuts. Look closely and you will probobly see thin groves on the outside of the lug nuts. Many after market wheels will not accept standard size lug nuts. You can buy a key at most pepboys auto stores.

It's a 21mm thin wall (deep impact) socket, I just had to find one that fit the rims lug nut hole and the lug nut. Jobs done, it just threw me for a loop... Id had never expected such a large socket for a little lug nut.
