Probably because 18x8.75+36 is actually 15mm closer to your spring/strut than OEM wheels.

Choose the 18x8.75+19 for the front if you're set on those wheels.

^^^This.

Quick look around shows these wheels are available in same size but with +19mm offset which should work.

There are zillions of wheels in this sub-$500 price range as well. They're all pretty much reps of Chinese origin but if that's what you're budgeted at and don't plan to do anything silly with 'em, they'll serve your purpose as commute wheels.

Maybe.

I have looked high and low for wheels that are better under the 200 a wheel price. It seems like some one always has something neg to say unless there gram lights. I would love gram lights but my budget isn't there. I still have to send z1 7k for the supercharger kit and finish the paint job that's going to be another 1500 bucks for the final paint. Wheels I might be going a little cheap on but I feel over all the look of the xxr 556 is a pretty clean and rich looking wheel. I don't think there the best but I also don't think drifting or track racing here and there is going to break one. If this was a Honda there would be a ton of wheels under the 200 range from bigger company's.

OK, I am NOT busting on your wheel choice by the way (see my thread on replica wheels for proof of that); you want 'em, no one's stopping you. But I will be so bold as to say your PRIORITIES are backwards.

Take my advice with a grain of salt if you wish but..... if you plan on a boosted platform, screw the paint for now and INVEST in your own safety (and that of others around you) by NOT CHEAPING OUT on wheels and tires and adding good brakes BEFORE you boost. Your only link to putting down 400whp to the road and halting all of that kinetic energy!

Safety over cosmetics/aesthetics.

And you're dead wrong on "drifting or track racing here or there is not going to break one". All it takes is a single point of failure. Lateral loading is something to not trust cheap junk on.

But it's your a$$ on the line so do as you will. Just don't take anyone out doing so.

And FYI.... it's NOT a Honda - NOT that Hondas are bad - I owned a great one for nearly 300k miles - but Hondas are a different game.

I just talked to xxr and 556 does not work on cars with the brembo. There in a redesign right now to fix the problem. So I'm open to idea's for wheels if u have any. I have all ready started the paint job 4 months ago and have installed new body kit from stillen. I don't go cheap but I also don't waste money on crazy high priced item's. The tires I have are 275/35 255/35 nitto nt55 g2. They might not be the best but there not the lowest level either. For the brakes I have more than enough braking power for 450 horse. Brembo calipers with hawk hp plus pads and stoptech rotors. So if any one knows some good value priced wheels I'm opening to taking a look.

Check the Marketplace periodically for some good stuff. There are currently at least three sets of "reasonably priced" tire/wheel sets in the MP. (And not to say anything that's wrong or anything but I happen to have a "bargain wheel/premium tire" set for sale in the NorCal Regional Classifieds section.)

Also check local craigslist and be patient.

Speaking of which, the deal of the day: http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sfc/wto/5801850098.html

Would someone please buy these before I get all crazy and jump on yet another set of orphan wheels that I have no need nor space for!! Glad I'm headed out of town for the weekend cuz if not, I'd prolly go pick these up!! Can you say "B-E-S-T D-E-A-L"?

What is the big deal about those wheels btw?

I feel like every serious Z race team I see is running these wheels almost exclusively. What gives over volks or the norm guys run on street queens?

I'm going to assume lighter and stiffer than your standard BBS or Volks?

RPF1= Light, strong (enough), and decent prices. (Although not exactly cheap.)

^^^ This.

Have to look at their history.... they are replicas of an original Formula 1 race wheel (as supplied to McLaren back in the day). But the street wheels took engineering cues from the original race wheels.... double spoked to spread the load over the barrel/rim more evenly yet being lighter in weight and aerodynamically superior to many other designs.

While Enkei doesn't supply wheels to other formula cars necessarily, their design is very similar to wheels used in current day F1, Indycar, IndyLights and other high powered F-cars.

Weight wise, they have amongst the highest strength-to-weight ratios available to racers of all budgets. And that's without full on forging (they use a proprietary technology called MAT (Most Advanced Technology - howz that for originality in naming? )

Interestingly enough, MAT isn't a product of Enkei.... It was first developed by Konig Wheels and licensed by Enkei, who were the ones to really popularize its use through wide spread distribution.

Anyhow, where forging involves pressure forcing aluminum into a mold, MAT uses a combination of flow casting and spinning the wheel at high speed during the manufacturing to force the metal into the rim to a very high density, like forging. The result is a thinner, lighter wheel but with the strength many times that of a gravity OR pressure cast aluminum wheel.

As stated in earlier msgs, they's cheap (relative to the quality of the wheel) giving them the highest value for the dollar (bang for buck).

And that's why they're better.

I should note that Volks aren't all that light weight. My SF Winning wheels don't even come close to my forged Rays/S-Tune wheels given like for like sizing. I rarely run my Volks anymore because of this. They're on par with a set of Nismo V3 wheels.... modest weight in front at about 21lbs but close to or above 29lbs (!) at the rear. (This, versus my S-Tunes at 20.5 or so average at all four corners).

So I found some 2012 370z wheels rays. What do u guys think about those for fitment ? I'm going to offer him $950 if they will fit on the car. I will have to sell the tires and get another set but that's ok.

You will want spacers for the front wheels as the offset is very high.

20mm spacers work. I have Z34 wheels on my Z33 (and another set of Z34Ns in my garage) and have NO problems.

Should I buy longer wheel studs to make sure its safe? Also what is the best tire size for 19's for the 350z for the vdc and speedo? Looks like common size tire for 19 is 285/35 265/35.

Jeez, *I* want that scale for myself!!

Enkei's spec sheet shows

18x9.5 +15 18.20lbs
18x10.5 +15 19.05 lbs

If MY scale had that minus ~10% error, people might stop calling me a fata*s!! Hahahahahahahahahahhahaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!

No, the wheel spacers have their own studs and they install over and through the old studs. The old studs protrude out past the adapter face a bit so make sure wheels you get have the mounting face recesses to allow for this. All Nissan OEM wheels do (as do most aftermarket wheels).

265/285 is a little tall but works OK.

If your going to spend $1000 on oem Z34 wheels that need spacers to fit you might as well spend a few hundred more and get enkei wheels with the proper offset.
