Default help forRocket Bunny tires choice

hi,

I nearly finish my 350z rocket bunny project ! But have a hard time to choose the perfect tires for the rear!
I am runing a stock wheel with 100 mn spacer on the rear ( and it is not even flush) ! I know some people gona say it is too big , but it is only temporaly the time i get the final rims !

I am planing to get the rays te37 mark II 18x10.5 -40 offset for the rear ! but still not sure if i should take
275/35 18 or 275/40 18 or 275/30 ! or may be 295 ? I live in an island so i have to order everything overseas , so i can t afford to get the wrong setup . Hope some of you could help me !

Get out a steel rule and measure how much tire you need to fill up the flare then figure out the closest tire to that width.

Next, use the tool we supply here and do the math to figure out an appropriate wheel offset while figuring out the size you need to maintain rolling diameter correctly.

I can tell you this much..... 275 to 295 will be weak inside those flares. But not as weak as 100mm spacers!!!! Good lawd, would totally hate to be your wheel bearings. Top of head would guess you'll be somewhere in the 335 on 12s to even begin to do it right.

I remember when one fit tires to the car and flared because you had to. Now seems its the other way around.... ehhhhhh.

OK, here's the thing, I won't make a recommendation on specific sizing because I'm not physically there to put hands on the car (trial fit or anything). All cars have some variances to them, especially when it comes to installing aftermarket bodywork. I have no clue how things were installed - Were the wells actually cut and/or radiused? What suspension and amount of inside clearance? That sort of thing.)

I already told you what you need to do. Start with the tools you have.... measurements, offset/wheel calculator here on this site or any number of other online calculators using the different variables (offset, available tire widths, etc.) to get yourself a starting point estimate. For example, if you plug in that 11.5 -40, you can see that the wheel/tire assembly will be pushed out 111mm, very close to your "I have a 100mm spacer and it's not even flush" observation.

But will this theoretical measurement actually fit? Maybe, maybe not. With the new info you have, you then need to go out and re-measure with these new specs in mind.

Another thing you should do is google this site for other RB kitted cars and study what sizes they're running. This will give you some idea of what sizes people are using to fill those wells and paying close attention to comments about handling and fit with those tires/wheels. But you can't take it as gospel because of the variances between cars I mentioned. It is but a starting point ONLY.

Did it for you.... https://www.google.com/search?q=what...nt=firefox-b-1

What you are attempting isn't rocket science but as you mentioned about living on an island, you have to apply some science upfront (measure twice, order once) to do it right and the only person that can do it for you is yourself. Or possibly a competent and patient tire shop, if that's available to you.

sure I understand your advices , Thank you
I don't worry much about rubbing or space , there is too much since we ve been cutting for the new Rocket bunny flares ! I have aftermarket coilover (cusco street zero red) i can adjust the height!
At the end , I just wana pick the right size for me (a bit less than flush ) ! I don't wana take too big and wide! it will be impossible for me to get the tires next home
I keep in note and will take my time to choose the proper setup , so i can pick the appropriate ones !
