Right now I have stock 17 inch wheels with stock suspension and stock height. I’m going to get new wheels but my question is, should I go up to 18 inch wheels or stay with 17 inch wheels?
Im currently looking at 17x9.5 +22 and 17x10.5 +22,
should I make it 18x9.5 +22 and 18x10.5 +22

 

I would look through some of the wheel and tires thread for pictures of a setup you may like.

It depends on your goals for the car. 17 inch wheels will be lighter than 18 inch. But then you have to factor in a higher sidewall, which usually means more 'resistance' when cornering, etc...

IMO 18 inch wheels have the best tradeoff for looks and performance.

 

Go up to 18 and search the wheel thread for offsets until you come across something you like. Plus 18's will make life easier in the future if you every want to upgrade your brakes.

 

 

I run both 17” and 18” wheels.

• 17” wheels will have a taller sidewall for the same width tire and will thus provide a slightly softer ride (tire compounds being similar).
• You have a larger selection for snow tires in 17” wheels.
• Quality 17” wheels weigh less than the same grade in 18” wheels.
• There is a broader selection for both wheels and tires (performance tires) with 18” wheels. That is especially true when you shop for wider wheels and tires.
• Most people believe 18” wheels are the best compromise of handling, appearance, and selection.
