+5 offset and rolling the fenders
My son is looking at some Comis Racing S1's 18x10.5 + 5 for the rear. Stock suspension for now but *may lower in the future.

We don't mind rolling the fenders but... with +5 will that even work with rolled fenders? If so will it be minor or major work to get them under there?

Depends on tires.
I run several sets of 10.5s with fully rolled n’ sealed guards. (And to complete the data.... -19mm static drop)
10.5 +22 or +23 (different sets) with 285s are within about 4mm of the fender. (Pics below)
10.5 +22 with 285/35-19 (above and below). Tight but no rubbing.
10.5 +23 with 285/35-19
10.5 +9 with 275s (below) still have plenty of space. Could probably fit +5 offset wheels with this size.
If you run more camber (say as much as -3deg), probably fit 285s but I would never run that far out of range unless for track use.
Note: have seen lots of applications running even negative offsets that seem to fit. Not that practical when it throws alignment well out of range but do they fit without rub? Yup, somehow they make them fit, but likely at a cost of optimal handling; but can't really say for sure.
Just datapoints for you.

Thanks for the reply, the pics help a lot. Looks like it’s doable just some work. He’s been indecisive on wheels for good reason.
hard to spend the money not knowing if they will fit correct.
