For any tire experts here:
I did a search and am just wondering if there are any new tires or experiences I need to know about. I have a set of extra stock front tires for my 03 Enthusiast. (17")
Now I am wondering what I can get to improve my rear tire performance? Can I use different Rear Tires with no problem?
Who makes a good tire for performance while also getting at least 15K Miles?
How good are the stock tires?

at steady state, it'll cause more understeer. the most fun i had in a taurus was when they had bridgestone s-02's up front and the stock conti touring things in the back. it was a pretty neutral car, especially when the track got damp.
different tires front to rear will alter the car's turn in response since the tire constructions will be of different stiffness.

The BFGoodrich g force TA KD is the meanest handling, but it is deadly in the wet. Since you are in Arizona, may not be a big issue! I would run the same brand on all four corners if I were you.

14 November 2003 MEDIA RELEASE
AWARDS GALORE FOR GOODYEAR EAGLE F1
One of Goodyear’s top tyres, the Eagle F1 GS-D3 is the talk of the tyre industry after receiving further acclaim in Europe and the United States.
The Goodyear Eagle F1 recently won a consumer magazine test in America and has just won an award in the toughest proving ground in the automotive industry through the European auto magazine, Tyre Test.
This praise follows on from its latest kudos in Auto Express, one of Britain’s top enthusiast magazines, which named Eagle F1 the winner of its 2003 tyre test.
Auto Express fitted a set of Goodyear’s Eagle F1 16-inch tyres to a BMW 5 Series and Mercedes C Class and they were "way ahead in the wet and on the pace in the dry."
Pitting Goodyear's ultra-performance tyre against eight others, Auto Express said "the Eagle F1 dominated the competition with wins in wet handling, wet cornering, dry braking, straight aquaplaning and curved aquaplaning."
The publication went on to say that "when the heavens open, the Eagle F1 GS-D3 is definitely the tyre to be on, its curved aquaplaning performance was amazing, with grip maintained long after rivals had given up."
Shortly after the tyre's introduction last year, three German publications and British EVO magazine gave Eagle F1 highest marks in performance.
Germany's Sport Auto magazine reported that the Goodyear tyre "came to a stop more than four meters ahead of its rivals."
Tyre Test magazine said "Eagle F1's showing in Europe is no accident; it is truly Goodyear's first 'world' tyre, and it's being embraced by auto enthusiasts everywhere."
In Australia the international awards are no surprise to Craig Clarke, Goodyear’s national Brand Manager.
"The Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 is a very good tyre and the fact that it is receiving all of this international acclaim doesn’t surprise us," Clarke said.
"The Eagle F1 is also a finalist in the very prestigious Automotive News PACE awards, which recognises innovative products and original equipment suppliers.
"The Eagle F1 is being considered on the basis of its innovative merits and its very positive consumer reaction.
"The feedback from everyone, consumer and industry alike, about the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 has been tremendous, Goodyear is very proud of its products, this one in particular."
The Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 is available nationwide at all Goodyear Auto Service Centres and from other leading tyre specialists.

Can I keep my orginal fronts and switch to the 255/45/17 Goodyear rears without any issues?
Also AZ has no rain....but the reviews seem to favor their performance for dry pavement as well.
What other tires do you think you would consider if you lived here?
Thanks.
