Default new work wheels +8 offsets

Picked up some new wheels for the Z.

Work VS-X9 18x9.5 and 18X10.5 offsets +8 re lipped and re barreled.

Now I know these are old wheels but these are the exact wheels I been looking for the Z as Ive had these on my previous S13 and S14. Just love the old school look.
Anyway I know most stick to offsets in the +15 to +20 range. The car is lowered on Teins but not slammed, I have rear camber arms, spc toe bolts. Up front stock suspension other than bushings. Tires are general gmax 255/40 F, 275/40 R these tires are on my current wheels now and will be using them on the Work wheels. I dont like the stretch look and will like to keep my current tire setup as this will work with VDC. The rear fenders/quarter panels are rolled.
You guys think ill be able to get away with just alignment tweaks in the rear? without out having to go with some extreme camber? or having to pull on the rears?

My 3pc wheel setup is similar to yours: F19x10 +4, R19x11 +9 all SL disk, 245 & 275/ 35 tires. Mild roll in rears, mild drop, and stock alignment specs. Occasional rub on hard rebounds since the rears are not rolled flat. Can't run them anymore due to Akebono calipers.

Your new VSXX wheels would only poke out further by another 7mm against your current wheels. Go peak under your rear fenders, do you have 7mm of clearance? If not, roll again until you have clearance. Mine are rolled 90 degrees up with a slight rounded edge, not completely flat.

I've run 10.5s at +8 (spacers) with about 3/4 rolled & sealed rear lips. No issues. I put a set of bigger spacers (20mm) on a set of +22s for +2 effective and they were fine with "narrow" 275 tires. (Tires are never exactly spec)

Mistuh Sparco, still love that wrap color. Man.... were I to do a wrap...

My bad for asking but what do you mean by sealed rear lips?

So I got the wheels on and there is some rubbing in the rear even though the wheels are the same specs as my old ones. Only difference as I mentioned is the offset being +8 now before on rear the specs were 18x10.5 +20 with a 15mm spacer.
I thought the fronts would give me some rubbing issues but none. Im not sure why I would get rubbing in the rear now as i didnt before. Anyway as much as i wanted to keep the car lowered as it was i raised it from the rear a bit and kinda mess with the camber to get enough clearance for now until i take it to get it aligned on the weekend. Heres a pic of how the rears initially sat at first before raising the rear.

Your previous wheels with spacers were more aggressive by 3mm as compared to your new wheels. Yet the previous wheels did not rub. Most likely threw off the alignment enough to cause rubbage when you messed with it.

Questions:

- Refresh my fading memory-did you roll the fenders?

- Your comment: "Work VS-X9 18x9.5 and 18X10.5 offsets +8 re lipped and re barreled."

So, how are you sure the offset is +8? I would posit that the re-barrel or lip altered your offset by a bit, enough to cause interference is answer to the above is "no".

- Did you move your existing tires over or new/different brand? Some tires are wider than others despite being labeled the same width, e.g., "275".

Im using the same tires. That were on my other wheels. I also thought that the offsets may not have been +8.
I bought these wheels from VR wheels. They import wheels from Japan and also produce their own line of wheels. New inner barrels and lips were used on the set I bought. I did email them about this and was told to bring in one of the wheels to measure the offset to confirm this. How hard is it to measure the offset? Maybe I can do this. I've seen videos but don't quite understand it

Yes I rolled the rears even before I had the old wheels

Update

I got the car aligned and everything clears good. Only rubbing I have is when im backing out of the driveway but nothing crazy. I still have a feeling the wheels were built with a lower offset than +5 and not +8. I will measure at some point just to know exactly what I have.
