Enthusiast trim model rims will fit basic trim vehicles.?
Hello everyone,
lately, I’m looking to replace these “boring” stock rims on my basic trim 2005 Nissan 350Z.
I am not sure what are the limitations of the basic trim models, but so far, I’ve been through many limitations compared to other trims.
Make long story short, I want to replace them with the OEM/stock Enthusiast trim rims.
I am not sure if they will fit to my car. I have already tired rims with specs : 18x9.5 +38 5x114.3 lug pattern, and it wouldn’t fit on the front system. It was touching the arms due to the width.
Now, my OEM specs are 17x7.5JJ +30 offset and the studs are not any longer enough to even run spacers. So, option of spacers does NOT exist.
Enthusiast trim specs (see photo below)
are 18x8 +33 (for the fronts, where I have the fitting issue).
Has anybody done this replacement already??
I need to be very sure they will fit before I will start looking to buy them.

Thanks in advance.!
No, nobody has done this swap in the 20 years this car has been out.
OK, enough wiseassery.
Simple. Yes. They will fit. Every OEM Z33 wheel from every era and model will fit ANY standard brake Zs.
Your issue with the 9.5 wheels wasn't due to width issues as every Z known to man can EASILY fit 9.5s. So long as you have the correct offset. Your 9.5 +38 Evo/WRX spec wheels don't fit the Z well with that much offset. Moves them inwards, makes the wheels look sunken, and apparently caused interference with your "arms" (guessing you mean control arms). Stock Z wheels are +30 and +33 for 8.5" rears. You can easily go up to a 9.5 +20 with little problem up front and 10.5 +20 in the rear, likewise. So long as you pair with correctly sized tires, you're good to go. (You neglected to mention anything about tires on those interfering 9.5s.)
In any event, you can run those stock '06+ wheels; but honestly, you're not buying any real gains but for looks; as you are limited on tires on those narrow wheels. 245/40-18 might be about all you'll be able to run. I would suggest that if you're going to spend money on wheels and tires, at least go up to 9.5 width wheels with some real rubber, say 245/40-18 fronts and 275/40-18 rears. FYI, the most common setup on the Z33 are 9.5/10.5, offsets between +15 and +25 with +22 the sweet spot, depending on whether lowered or not.
Oh, and a word on spacers... no, studs aren't long enough for slip on spacers. Bolt ons, you can fit any size from 10 to 40. Not that you would ever want to go over about 20mm. Skip spacers all together if you're buying new wheels and just get the right wheels to begin with.
Thanks for these answers!
I really appreciate whenever such guys with ton of experience are able to help us, the noobies, save some money and do the right work 🙏🏽🙏🏽
Wheel specs are complicated when mixing/matching with the aftermarket. If you aren't buying OEMs or new wheels with the exact specs for your car, you have to adapt them, assuming the offset is good. Start with correct offset to keep things simpler. It's good to learn about wheels, save you some $. Don't trust a wheel shop, know what you need.
The center bore is not the same for every car. 350Z hub diameter is 66.1mm. This is the "ID" you want when buying a hub adapter.
I traded wheels with a guy with a G35: my RPF1s for his Konigs. I had to get new hub adapters. These wheels are 10.5" on all four. The offset was fine but 10.5 is pretty big for the front. Just almost fit. 3mm spacers were just enough. I don't like messing with spacers but 3mm is thin. I would have preferred 9.5s in the front. If you need bigger spacers, then install longer wheel studs and open-ended lug nuts. I will be able to fit 265/35s on the fronts and 295/35s on the rear. This guy put 245/40s on 10.5s because it was slammed.
These Konigs have a hub diameter of 73.1mm. You can measure this with a ruler yourself on your intended wheels. I measured ~2.9 inches, converted to 7.3cm. 73.1mm came up as a common size. I found a hub ring adapter with 73.1 OD, 66.1 ID to perfectly mate the wheel to the 350Z hub. Keep this in mind. If the hub isn't right you'll get a vibration.
