Default volks t37 question

hi, i have been looking around and searchign the forum, but no one has definitive answer; shouldnt a smaller or negative asset create a bigger lip on the TE37's? from the pics in the gallery of owners with 19x8.5r and 19x9.5f, the guys with the +34 offset in the rear seem to have larger dishes than the guy with +22 in the rear...what gives?

For TE37, offset +34 has bigger lip and +22 is more concave.

so your front wheels are wider then the back or did you mean front 19x8.5 29mm and rear 19x9.5 22mm? If so, how far are you from rubbing?

The 10.5 inch +22 has a big lip (where the 9.5 +22 lip is small) so you really can't just go by offset alone to determine lip size. Best thing to do would be to scope out the wheel galley for the look you want. If the listing doesn't have the specs PM the owner. That way you'll be sure to get exactly what you are looking for.

Let's say we're working with the 19 x 10.5" (rear) . . . the +22 offset will have a bigger lip over the higher +29, etc offsets since the hub will attach close to the center of the wheel. The higher the offset (positive), the closer the hub comes to the wheels outer edge . . . right?

not nescessarily.

as was noted before. though offset is a measure of the edge of the lip to the hub, it sounds like thats all she wrote, and bigger=more lip. but atleast with the TE37(other rims too probably) the spokes are not all the same.

as you see above in that photo, the back spokes are sharply angled, while if you looked at the 34 offsets youd notice the spokes are flat. the spokes on the low offset come out and eat away at that extra space that could be lip. If they had flat spokes like the 34 offset does, it would have a larger lip, instead it has very little.
