Can stock rear wheels be used in front?
My car has the stock 17 inch wheels. I would like to replace the 17 x 7.5 fronts with the 17 x 8 wheels normally fitted to the rears, so that I can mount 245/45/17 tires on identical stock 17 x 8s all around.
I realize that the offset of the rears is 33, as opposed to the 30 of the (narrower) fronts, and have heard something about a peg somewhere on the rear wheels that must be removed in order to fit them to the front hubs...
Is there any reason why this shouldn't work?? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

There won't be a problem... the peg you're talking about is on the FRONT hub... but just take that off and you'll be rolling... pun intended
Driveability is another issue... while autox'ers have reported less understeer with the same profile all around... this might be dangerous on the street as the rear end of the car will tend to swing around under heavy cornering...
PLUS on my winter setup (same profile all around) VDC seems to turn on more often
