Default My new opinion on "The Best Tire"

Well, too often i hear everyone say ohh definitely the Toyo T1-S is the best, well i had them for over a year and they performed great but the wear was atrocious. Now i have have the S03's and the wear is better but the responsiveness is a little slower. There are 3 tires left i fell are contenders to be the Best tire. 1. Michelin Pilots, 2. New Fuzion ZRi's, 3. Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3.
the pilots are too expensive and the Fuzions are too new to be assesed. Soooo in my opinion the best tires there are, which surprisingly you dont hear many people suggest, are the Goodyear Eagle F1 D3's!

Default Try Yokohama AVS Sport

I have 265x35x18, and 295x35x18 . I have used these at a track day and was very impressed with the handeling and wear. They also ride well on the freeway. So far so good. I can't comment on wear yet since only a few months so far.

There is no such thing as "the best tire". Everyone wants a different mix of compromises, therefore everyone has their own favorite (or likely, favorites). Both of my top 2 candidates aren't even on your list because you and I are looking for different things.

The 2 tires I drive on are:
Hoosier A3SO3 (for the track, no-one makes a grippier DOT rated track tire)
Kumho Ectsa MX (for the street, a good, cheap high performance tire)

Jason, I hope you're right!

I have a set of Kumho Ecsta MX's on the way.

I had considered the Goodyear's, but their outer tread blocks don't look like they would hold up to track use/abuse.

And the Kumho's are a lot cheaper!!

ya i guess you are right, i should have asked what is the best tire for both wear and grip both being considered, if price is not.
