Default Is it ok to use different brand tires.....

in the back and front?

I'm having a hell of a time finding tires. I have 20x11 in rear and 19x9 in front. I've ordered rear tires from tirerack. I got Continental 305/25/20. Those were the only tires I could find that weren't on back order for a month or two! So I want to order the continental 245/35/19, but they are back-ordered until the end of May.

So, I was thinking of ordering front tires from a different brand like Toyo, or Pirelli.

Any suggestions or comments? I'd appreciate your help.

Oh yea.. I know my car has Nitto vinyl on the door, but since they don't officially make the sizes I needed, they freaking gave me "prototype" tires and told me not to drive on them. lol I was under the impression that they were going to be releasing these sizes soon, but they won't give me an ETA, so I took Nitto off the car and am getting different tires that I can actually drive on.

Its not really an issue at all. Since you will never be rotating the tires I would not worry about it. It might looks strange but I doubt any one would even notice.

I would keep the same tread from side to side, but front to back shouldnt be a big deal. Its not uncommon on RWD vehicles to replace the rear tires more often than the front ones.

the only cars that have to worry about the same tire on front and rear wheels are AWD cars
