there is a problem with the 275/30/19s...

i had to purchase a set of rears asap, because i cordered my current set. the tires i usually run, falken grb451s 285/35/19, are back ordered or i would have bought these. i have notice some tcs/vdc problems, especially in 1st gear. like todd says, i dont want to be out there and have to panic stop and have the chance of my abs freaking out.

i hope to have these tires off of my car asap, heh.

can anyone help?
You gotta go 265 rears if you can find em. Your VDC is messed because you have almost no stagger.
Your rears are barelty taller than your fronts.

Totally fuked up.

They made a mistake, they know it, and now they are shafting this guy. We should spam the hell out of him!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe discount tire can send him a letter telling him why hes wrong. If that doesnt work, Discount tire can send him a letter thanking him for future business that he will lose to DT

I'm gonna try to dispute the charge. Being that he does not have a return policy on his receipt nor will he accept my phone calls to return the wheels means he is not allowibng me to return them. You can't do that. I would even have settled just to exchange teh back tires and have 2 different brands front and back but this ***** won't do tjat I know it.

By the way, I spoke to Kevin today at Discount tire and he is a great guy. He spent a half hour on the phone with me explaining why my setup is wrong and we were trying to find concrete proof from Nissan that the setup I have will definitely not work.

I'm really pissed. I'm just driving the car with TCS off full time for now.

Im sorry this is your situation. my friend.

If you drive your car hard, it is important that you drive your car with VDC and or TCS off. When I put the wrong tires on my track rims , the VDC hit the brakes and caused problems in precarious situations. ALWAYS turn off your VDC in the rain and when driving aggressively, with this incorrect stagger.
VDC is grat with a proper setup. Without it is dangerous!

If you need help getting the word to these people, let me know. We will let all the forums know about this CRAP customer service.

I do want to slam this guy. I want to go on every auto-related forum and tell everyone how full of **** these people are.

The funny thing is that when I called Axis directly to get some info on the Hiro's, they RECOMMENDED Wheel Studio. So tomorrow, I'm calling them back and telling them that Wheel Studio is ****ing everyone's car up with their rims and they don't give a ****. This guy is lucky he's in Californias and that's probably why he thinks he has a pair of *****. I'm gonna make sure that the amount of business he loses from trying to **** me will not be worth just doing the right thing for me.

you'll see that there are a LOT more companies that will send out this kind of wheel & tire set, other than WheelStudio. Its why I am here guys. To help in any way I can.

by the way...most of these companies are taking your order, and your hard earned money while sitting in the garage in their house.

Hey Todd, thanks for your input and I really wish I had gone to you guys first.

Kevin mentioned to me that you found the "stagger rule" documented somewhere. Do you know if it was from a Nissan related site? The reason I ask is because I am putting in a dispute to my credit card company but they need some kind of proof that what he sold me is incorrect, preferably from Nissan or any kind of official publication indicating that what he sold is not right. The Nissan dealer close to me are nice guys but they are just idiots. One guy (an actual mechanic mind you), actually told me that my TCS light is probably coming on because "I no longer have the sensors in the valves since I changed the wheels". He caught me so off guard with that comment that I remained speechless for approx. 30 seconds.

This gets even better. I just spoke to Chris from Axis. I told him that he should not be recommending Wheel Studio to his customers based on my situation. He says that he feels that the 245x35 front and 275x30 is CORRECT. He says that most people he knows with Zs have this setup with no problems and that a 275x35 setup in the rear would cause the rear wheel to be too much more in height. He only agreed that the guy at Wheel Studio shouldn't have been such a ***** with me but that's about it. This is amazing.

Todd or Kevin, have you ever dealt with Axis directly and discussed tire sizes?

I cant believe your mechanic said that. lmao. I dont believe its in print. Perhaps the dealer has something to that effect (if you talk to a service writer or tech with a clue). All I know is before the 30 was released to the public, and we were testing it. Nissan asked for between .4" and .8" of stagger. A lil varience is ok, but not much. We have followed that as closely as possible.

How in the heck did these guys pass basic math? a 275-35-19 is in their words "too much more in height". HUH!? Its 2/10ths shorter in overall diameter than the stock rear!

No, we dont discuss this kind of thing with other companies. We just do our thing. I would think that basic math is common knowledge. And if they cant play with numbers...they can at least hit up one of the dozen or so tire size calculators out there

yes, a 245-35-20f 275-30-20r is an incorrect setup. NismoG has luckily had no issues...but this size is a 1/4" shorter in the rear than it is in the front.

it seem most or the tire company's make either a 275/30/20(R), 245/35/20(F) or 285/30/20(R), 255/35/20(F)

the only companys that i've seen that make a 285/30 and 245/35 is michelin or bridgestone

you're right. he did say in 19s (which is what i have). i only got the wheels the friday before last. i'm lucky if i put 200 miles on them already. as soon as i put the car on the highway, the TCS light started coming on frequently. road wasn't wet or bumpy.
