Tired of busted rims, need more rubber
I enjoy looking at the tons of low profile tires on the forum but no one speaks of the harsh reality of rim damage. I live in NJ and the roads suck. Thinking of running 245/45-18's up front and 285/40-18's in the rear. What of it?
ride height will be higher than stock by about 0.35 inches in the front... but that can be visually corrected with lowering springs
also, your VDC with be sloppy because there is virtually no stagger with that setup

Run 245/40 in front. That is very close to stock.....uh, wait, I'm lame. You want more tire.
I think if you want more tire you should just go to 17's with taller tires. That way you can get an extra inch of tire diameter without messing up the VDC stagger and speedo and all that.
D'oh!
