Hey guys I need a little help. I will Be going TT soon enough and i was wondering what is the widest rim/tire thet you either have or know will fit in the rear. I would be open to rolling the fenders to make it fit. 305'S?? 315'S??

If anybody knows or has this kind of setup pics and sizes with offsets would be a great help thanks!

305s will be the widest you can cram in the back, and even that's going to be a very tight fit. Good luck with the offsets...

Fabulous (japanese aftermarket manufaturer) makes 20 x 11 rims to fit the Z. You can see a pic of it in a Hyper Rev book for the new Z

 

honestly, you don't need wheels/tires that wide, even if you go TT.

Get something reasonable and put some good rubber on it. You seem to be fairly obsessed with quarter mile times, so just go buy some 15x10 Weld DragLites and ET Streets.

 

Thanks guys I want the widest tires possible as traction is a huge issue with the TT kit I would like to go 18x11 in the rear and i was hoping to be able to buy the wheels off the shelf with the correct offset that would work although it looks like maybe its a custom job and $$$$$$.

A 15 inch rim with some drag radials might be good for a night at the track however aroung town that would look rediculous!!!

 

Better figure out how to control wheel hop, that will be an issue. I got 295's without rolling anything. No rubbing, even on the track...

In the Roadster section, alddave posted pics of his Z with 305/25/20's.
All 305's, 315's etc. are not created equal, example the Continental 295/30/19's are actually wider than the 305 Pirelli's I have. One reason I went with the Pirelli is because it was taller and matched the stock ratio's better for VDC, ABS. Just be sure you check Manufacturers specs when making a comparison. The Tirerack is a good place to do that. You need to be aware of diameter too. There is a new Porsche sizing 315/25/19 but I would think it was too short for the Z.
305's on an 11 will require fender rolling.

 

I would be open to fender rolling however do you think 305's would fit on an 18x10.5" rim? I also want to match the stock diameter as close as possible and also when i drop the car .8" i hope with the 18" i wont run into too much camber issues and with the drop the 18" should look pretty good in the fenderwell.

 

400 RWHP is NOT going to give you the kind of traction problems you're implying.

295 width rubber should be more than enough, especially if you choose a good tire. Unless you plan to run around with the throttle planted at WOT 100% of the time, you will not have any traction issues whatsoever.

295/35R18 seems to be good enough for the Z06, and it has a LOT more low-end torque than a twin-turbo Z. The stock C5 has almost the same torque curve down low, and it comes with 275 width rubber.

 

For everyday driving yes 275's are fine however I do plan on the 430 rwhp(9 psi ) range for now however i do plan on ripping out the motor and running forged internals either when i do the TT kit or down the road money of course being the deciding factor. I just want to have the widest tire possible from the begining so as to avoid having to buy a second set of rims when the time comes.

Ive got the body kit going on this week then ive got a full stereo install happening the week after that is done (3 10's full audiobahn 2600 watts) so its comming together pretty quick but with the kind of money im dumping out on the car i just dont want to make a mistake and dump 3000+ on rims and tires and be plauged with lousy traction at the track.

So im trying to fit the widest tire possible from the get go as i dont really want to go with a widebody kit.

So do you think 295's fit on an 18x10.5 rim ??? Im thinking 305's need to be on an 11 inch rim but im not sure anybody?

 

im about to sport 20x11 Lowenhart LSR's on mine after I get it back from the machine shop.

zLand and I are running the same setup, I'm lower one inch all four corners. Not sure the offset, will have to check. Expect 10% treadwear loss due to camber.

 

THANKS if you find out the offset let me know. if you lower the car .5 inches do you think the camber would be an issue??

 

I think you can go .80 inches with no camber issues. I am not certian, but I believe the Nismo S-tune drops the car .80, and no reports of camber issues there.
