Wheels staggered offset etc..
Do you have to keep the wheel sizes different for mthe front to the back and is there a best offset? Does the offfset depend on how you want the wheel to look or does it effect hqandling as well? I want to keep the 17" rim but just go for a different look. Could I do a 17x8 front 17x9 rear? Thanks for any help.

Yes you could. The offset is what puts the wheels where you want, but you must figure in wheel width. Do the math from your factory wheels to figure where you want to be. You know the wheel size, width & offset. Then add 1/2 the width of the new wheel to the outside lip, then the difference in offset gets added(as long as its a lower #). For example my 19x9.5 rear wheels sit out 3/4 more than my stock 18x8 touring wheels + 10mm of added offset wich is roughly .390" of an inch. (Stock offset is 30 aftermarket offset is 20) This puts the wheel even with the fender lip & lookes very aggessive.......shoot me a pm if you have offset/width questions......
