i didn't know the offsets were so high.. then i'd say go for the volks for sure... a +35 offset will definitely look sunk in (unless you like that look)

strife350z,

i definitely don't want tucked wheels. that was a huge concern of mine. according to this offset calculator provided by mindspring and tirerack this is how the +35's fit.

http://www.mindspring.com/~toy4two/offset.html

it actually sticks out farther than the current stock...if you have 8.5 and 9.5 for new rim widths.

correct me if i'm wrong...? seriously, i'm ordering these things and don't want to put them on then just have to send them back

ps the volks with those same rim widths are recommended at +25F and +29R to fit perfectly. the difference between the VOLKS and HP's is roughly 1cm greater front and rear as far as wheel stance from center line.

carmeljoy,

i've looked at those rims you mentioned and they're nice. the problem is they are flat across the mesh. they are 2 dimensional unlike the VOLKS and HP's. i like that third dimension to the wheels. the spokes curve out of the center cap and back into the wheel rim. it's beautiful from the 3/4 views...

unless you can get a better more positive offset than in that picture with the HP's get volks. Form some angles the HP's look kinda tucked in. It looks alright but i think it more racy and less bling if it is flush with the fenders.

adanande,

the HP's will supposively stick out 8mil more in front and 17mil more in back than the stock 17's. the rest of the rim is in the well.

Road Warrior,

if i go with the VOLKS the sizes that are recommended are 19's all around 8.5f and 9.5r, with +25f and +29r offset. No mods are necessary with those sizes.

The Volk Racing SF winning is a forged wheel.

The HP is a cast wheel.

Thats the main difference in pricing. Of course there's the detail, finish and over all look.

I looked into the HPs as well and came to find that they are not staggered. Or at least not available in a stagger for the 350z. The correct offsets/bolt patterns for our car are not made in a staggered setup. You woul have to have the same wheel size all around. You could probably stagger them w/ a wider tire in the rear, but the wheel size will be the same. You will not have a dish look in the rear wheel.

maxipad96,

The HP's actually do come in a staggered fit. If you go to wheelguys.com and check out their site, you will see staggered rims. I talked to the sales rep Marcus and the 9.5's are about $70 dollars more per rim.
These guys bought all the HP EVO's/New Lighting wheels and may be a reason why every other wheel distributer is on back order.

I need to make a correction to this thread. The rims you see representing the HP's on the convertible are actuall Zenetti wheels. The HP's might not be so tucked.

The HP's are +38 all around and not +35... so according to the rim/offset calculator the HP's should stick out beyond stock (5mil front and 14mil rear). Which isn't bad...

Get Volk.

HPs look good but they arent a true two piece. So if you want to have to explain to people that the rivets on the wheels are for show and dont mind the heavy weight then go for it.

I think the HP is too busy with the 10 split vs the Volk. If you look at the picture posted with the profile view of the white car above the car with the HPs, the Volks look much better IMO. They look sportier and not cluttered. They would allow a nice Big Brake kit to look good and show off the rotors/calipers whereas the HPs are soo busy it would be harder to see behind them.

I understand that the HPS are made in a staggered fit, but I was told that the staggered only was in 5x120 not 5 x 114.3. I don't know if this info is correct though.

thanks guys for your opinions and help

maxipad 96,

the guy i talked to, Marcus, says he has installed this staggered fit on 350z and G35's so it's gotta be 5 x 114.3.
he also sayed when mounted these rims and tires are flush with the wells. that's what he's telling me...

give him a call and see what he says... #1.866.333.4899 ext.205

Well i went to the wheelguys.com site. 19x9.5 wheel and tire package for silver is only $1900. that is a pretty nice price for a set of 19's. they look pretty nice imo.

volks ofcourse are gonna be nice. but you would have to add at least $1000 if not more.

the HP's are nice wheels... but according to (zillinois) offset thread the HP's will be close to flush with the stock 17's in the front and stick out only 5/16" past stock in the rear.

the VOLKS SF's will stick out 3/8" in front and almost 3/4" in the rear. i know, you pay an extra grand for perfection, but that's what it costs...
