Falken 512's
I was considering these tires for my Z. I have the stock 17s and was thinking of going with 245/45s for the front and 255/45 for the rear. Is anyone using these tires or know of anyone with them. I was told they were rated #1 by a consumers mag. They beat out the Michelins. I need to go with an A/S tire otherwise I would go with the T1s mostlikely. Your thoughts???? Thanks

Great tires, had them on a WRX , replaced oem bridgestones & Audi TT replaced w/ Yoko es 1000 (they sucked, noisy, lousy handling). The Falkens are quite, good grip, very good in rain , better than both tires i relaced..would buy again..BARGAIN! better yet some great prices out there on then rdmwheels.com tires.com (sponsor)etc etc.
BTW grew up in Huntington LI, great place but way overpriced & taxed..no sales tax here, home tax just $1k a year..2hrs to NYC

Falken FK 451 for performance
GET the Falken FK 451s for more performance style driving. They have an agressive tread pattern & grippy rubber compound. The ZE 512s are the quietest tire around with good performance for all driving and last long too. You can ask them at ay tire seller about the differences but they are both excellent tires. Consumer reports rated the 512s tops for all around driving. If you want more tire at more $ then Toyo TS1 and another step up to Michelin PS2

I have been reading a lot on consumer reviews on these tires and many people who have put these tires on higher performance cars have complained that the sidewall is too soft for cornering, they claim it is is not a true high performance tire. I do drive my car hard especially in the turns, I also can't get through another winter in NY with those stock tires. I didn't think this would be such a difficult decision but it is. I probably should just get the T1s, and deal with the winter. I don't want to ruin the true pleasure of driving this car with a tire that does not handle well.
